The hereditary American tycoon Eric Sacks spent his early life in Japan, studying the culture and history of the country. After learning about the existence of the oldest ninja clan, the Foot Clan, Eric decides to join them in the hope of gaining power. In the end, he becomes one of the greatest and most intimidating members of the clan, who took the name of the ancient ninja Oroku Saki. Soon he goes to New York and rapidly begins to spread the Foot Clan's influence throughout the city in all possible ways - as a respectable businessman Eric Sacks and as a cruel and treacherous Shredder.
