Krang was a military general of the Utrom civilization living in Dimension X, infamous for his power-hungry and sadistic nature. His main goal in life was to rule the entire universe, but he met resistance from his kindred, who imprisoned him. Promising to take revenge on all utroms, Krang escapes on his ship with the help of an experimental interdimensional portal Transmat, which takes him to planet Earth on territory of feudal Japan. Using the remnants of a utrom technology from his ship, Krang hatched plans to conquer this primitive world and take revenge on utroms, in the future founding the Techno Cosmic Research Institute as a cover for his evil plans.
