Description
Son of the infamous shaman Ataninnuaq, Qilaq is a glib and implacably cynical Waterbender from the North. At the age of eight, following the death of his mother, Qilaq was taken by his father to the Earth Kingdom.

During the closing years of the, then, seemingly endless war, he fought in and survived several pivotal battles, including the Siege of Ba Sing Se, where he witnessed his fathers death at the hands of The Dragon of the West: Lord General Iroh. Via some uncharacteristic guilt, the general let Qilaq live and even took brief guardianship of him, though it only lasted a few days. Nevertheless, the experience skewed the already idiosyncratic Waterbender, whose skin was too dark, tongue too subtle, and martial form too pointed. With grand Firebenders taking him in and traitorous Earthbenders coming against him more and more frequently, the lines in the sand are beginning to smear with tide and time.

His recent task has been to schlep his talents clear across the Kingdom to General Fong’s seaside fortress. Thankfully, he is allowed the company of his two closest comrades: the farmhand Lim, and the architect’s daughter, Nuan. They, too, are soldiers, much different and much the same as Qilaq.
