This illustration is another private commission and installment in the "Little Lost Squirrels" story. Here they are mid-journey taking shelter from the storm. If you look back at some of the previous "Lost Squirrels" illustrations you can see some of the details we carried through to this piece - the green beetle makes an appearance in three paintings and the owl appears twice in the distance and features as a more central character in another (although I'm not entirely sure that it's the same owl in all three or three different owls!).10 x 13 inches, acrylic on watercolor paper

Ohh, I love when illustrations have familiar characters in there that you can only see if the artist lets you in on it or you're very observational... Now I want to see another one, and see if I can find the little green beetle and owl!

This is adorable. It (and most of your artwork, for that matter) reminds me of my favorite childhood stories like "Once Upon a Forest" and "Redwall". Very nicely done. Your mastery of acrylics is impressive.
