Shooting Star Chapter 18 Racing Around Part 2

The entire team, and the other competitors were present at the site of the race, all except for Angel. "Where the heck is he?!" Ren asked. "There's no time to go look for him. The announcements are about to start." Shadow said. Seth sighed. "This is just great." Seth said. The announcer picked up his microphone. "Heeeeeello everybody! You excited for the race?!" The announcer asked the audience, who responded with an uproar of excitement. "Alright then, lets announce our contestants and get this show on the road! For our first contestant, we have Ren! For our second contestant, we have Nineball! For our third contestant, we have Shadow! For our fourth contestant, we have Seth! For our fifth and sixth contestants, we have brothers, and champions, Demo and Emeo!" The announcer yelled, the crows roaring with even more excitement. "For our seventh and eighth contestants, we have.....Garadon and Nazoa." The announcer said, slightly confused. Garadon seemed to be a crimson armored knight, while Nazoa looked like a crimson samurai with two swords. "And our ninth contestant, Zeno." The announcer said. Zeno looked like a crimson ninja. "Hey! That's the guy Angel fought on Waverako!" Ren yelled. "This isn't good...." Seth muttered. "Huh? Seems like the tenth contestant isn't here...." The announcer said. "On that note, lets start the ra-" "NOT SO FAST!" A voice yelled. The audience looked up as someone jumped down. It was Angel. "Sorry I'm late!" Angel yelled. "Where the heck were you?" Nineball asked. "Training." Angel said. "Well, now that our tenth contestant has arrived, lets start the show! You will be racing through four sections: Neon City, Zero Gravity Canyon, Plasma Volcano, and Crystal Valley! As a warning, all sorts of danger lies through these courses, some of which not even I know about. You are also allowed to attack your opponents. To keep things exciting, all of you will start on a different route." The announcer said, different colored capsules encasing the competitors. "Three.....Two.....One.....GO!" The announcer yelled, the capsules dropping down incredibly fast. A second later, their capsules touched down at Neon City and exploded. Around them was a glowing, technologically advanced city with several buildings and bridges, along with spiraling highways and metro systems. "Never expected to start out like this!" Angel yelled, boosting forward. In front were Demo and Emeo. "Oh hey look, the loser caught up!" Demo yelled, laughing. Angel tried to pass him, but Demo kept flying forward effortlessly, as if he wasn't even trying. The two of them raced off into a building. Meanwhile the others were racing with the three contestants that had joined that they didn't see earlier. "You're not going to beat us!" Seth yelled, flying in front of Garadon. Garadon pulled out his sword and slashed Seth's board, making him spiral out of control. He then slashed at Seth directly, but with much more force than what was required to simply knock him back. Seth narrowly dodged as the slash cut through the building behind him. "Whoa! Are you trying to kill him?!" Ren yelled. "That is none of your concern." Nazoa said, drawing his two swords and scraping them against the ground. A few seconds later he raised them, crimson energy shooting out of the ground and traveling towards the others. "If your going to fight like that, I will as well." Shadow said, racing forward and punching at Nazoa. Before the hit connected, Zeno appeared in front of him and kicked him off his board, sending him flying through a building with the force. "Shadow!" Seth yelled, shooting a blast of magic at Zeno, who deflected it off a giant shuriken. "Pathetic." Zeno said. A second later, Garadon tackled Seth into the ground and began smashing him with his fists, leaving only Ren and Nineball left. "You two are next." Nazoa muttered. "How is the announcer not seeing this?" Nineball yelled, countering a slash from Nazoa with a slash of her own. "Simple. We took out the surveillance. Now you're going to die here." Zeno said, throwing a ninja star at Nineball, who jumped over it. A second later Nazoa was behind her, slashing with both swords and kicking her into the ground. Ren flew at him, but Garadon grabbed her board and slammed his fist into her stomach, making her fly off and crash onto the ground. "Damn it..." Ren muttered. Before Garadon could kill her, Shadow burst out of the rubble he was in and punched Garadon in the face, knocking him off balance. He used this chance to kick Garadon through a window. As Shadow was about to charge forward, Zeno appeared in front of him, slamming his palm against Shadow's face and smashing him into the ground. Shadow got up and tried to elbow Zeno, but Zeno grabbed his arm and swung around, throwing Shadow high into the air. As he was going up, Zeno appeared in front of him again, kicking Shadow through the roof of a building. "You're reaction time and speed is sluggish. Far too slow to even counter me." Zeno said. "Then how about me?!" Seth yelled, shooting a large blast of magic at Zeno, who caught of guard, wasn't able to block. As the smoke cleared, Zeno was still standing, with barely more than a scratch. "Garadon, Nazoa, kill these four. I'll go after Angel." Zeno said, grabbing his board and speeding off. Garadon approached Seth. "I'll make sure to make this quick." Garadon said, picking up a piece of a building and throwing it at Seth. Seth round house kicked the building chunk and broke through it, running towards Garadon. He surrounded his fist in magic and punched Garadon in the chest, which seemed to do some damage to him. Garadon angrily grabbed Seth's fist and lifted him off the ground, hitting Seth directly in the face with a headbutt that sent him flying into a building. Shadow climbed out of the room he had crashed into while fighting Zeno and looked around, seeing Seth's fight below. Nearby, Nineball and Ren also got up. Nazoa stared at all three. "I hope you're ready to die." Nazoa said, crimson energy surrounding his katana's. Shadow jumped off the building and kicked at Nazoa, who ducked and slashed at him, but Shadow grabbed his katana's, trying to overpower him. The two spent a few seconds locked in a power struggle, until Nazoa eventually kicked Shadow in the chest and made him crash through a wall. He was about to finish him off, but Nineball saved his life, jumping upwards and dive bombing Nazoa with her sword, which he barely blocked as he went sliding towards the edge of the building. He forced Nineball off and began a sword fight with her, but Ren came in, shooting Nazoa with highly pressurized water, which shot him straight through a window. Ren and Nineball jumped into the window he crashed into, both slashing and kicking at him, but he was fending them off with his katana's. A crimson energy surrounded him, and with a yell, he thrust them into the ground, crimson energy erupting through the floor. Nineball jumped and punched a hole in the ceiling, grabbing Ren and throwing her up. She then slashed downwards at the crimson energy racing up to her, but she barely held it back. Nazoa then slashed at her, an explosion of crimson energy hitting her blade. The force of the explosion sent Nineball through the window, making her fall towards the ground below. Quickly, she jabbed her sword into part of the building to avoid falling. She looked up and saw Nazoa jump down with his katana's facing downward, but Shadow flew at him and kicked him through the building, landing on Nineball's sword and managing to keep his balance. "Alone, we can't beat this guy. We'll need to work together. And I'm hoping Seth can hold out down there." Shadow said, seeing a large explosion of dust fly up from the battle below. Up on the roof, sparks flew from a furious sword fight. "I'll get us up there." Shadow said, grabbing Nineball. He began running up the side of the building, slowing down at the edge and throwing Nineball up. Nineball lunged downwards and slashed Nazoa, Shadow following the attack by blasting Nazoa with darkness. "You three work well together. But it isn't enough." Nazoa said as his swords glowed with crimson energy. The three got into fighting stances as he approached. Down below, Seth and Garadon's battle was destroying the lower part of the city, with Seth getting tossed around like a rag doll. "You're magic doesn't impress me." Garadon said, picking Seth up and tossing him at a window. Seth backflipped in midair and jumped off, skidding across the ground. "You've seen nothing." Seth said, an aura of blue surrounding him. All four friends charged their opponents......
