Description
As a little break from inking and drawing commissions, I doodled up this little guy. He's my imagining of the Tokay from The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. The sprites for the Tokay are cute, and they make such an adorable noise when you talk to them, but their official art always seemed... ugly to me. Since I've been taking care of my friend's leopard geckos recently, I thought their cute faces and fat tails were good inspiration.[Paint Tool Sai // approx. 2 hours]

When I saw the Tokay, I really loved them, even if they were little shites who stole my stuff. xD
I imagined being one, even... then I saw the official art and I was like NOPE rejecting the official art!! xD

I wish Nintendo would do more with the Tokay and the Subrosians, they were both interesting races. The Tokay are cute, and the Subrosians are awesome

Very interesting rendition, toka. Too bad they're essentially a one-off, toka, because I'd like to see them in a newer Zelda game, toka, for sure!
(BTW, in the Japanese version, they throw in "toka" randomly in their sentences.)

It's just a thing. I don't think it means anything, specifically. It's just a play on their own species name, I suppose.

I flinched out of sheer anger when I saw this, simply because that entire Tokay trading sequence was *HORRIBLE*.
But it's cool aside from that. :3

Oh yeah, it was horrible, wasn't it? I think I managed okay because the music on the island was so darned catchy, but friggin' Tokay... It's my stuff! I shouldn't have to trade other stuff for MY STUFF! Gimme my Roc's Feather AND my Power Bracelet! They're MINE! D<

I was wondering if anyone would think that. I realized that halfway through doing the colours. The Tokay's colours are too similar, right down to the back spines. *laugh* Thank you though~ <3
