Description
As the global pandemic continued, the mercenary Deathstroke, real name: Slade Wilson, continued his mission. He has been escorting a teenaged girl named Sue Lang, who possesses metahuman abilities, and her mother Lana Lang to an undisclosed location in Europe for his anonymous employers. After they escaped an assassin back in America, Slade had his contacts arrange for the three to secure a hiding place on a medical ship to Spain; Sue, a spoiled brat, never let an opportunity pass up to complain during the trek. They landed in the port city of Vigo and quickly bypassed the quarantine checkpoints to get on the road to Madrid, the capital city of Spain. They decided to stop at a hostel there for the night. Slade, as they planned for the remainder of their journey, said that the final stop is in the Swiss Alps. There, the anonymous contacts will pick up Sue and her mother, and Slade will collect his check and be on his way. As they rested for the night, Slade stood guard outside the room where Sue and Lana were sleeping. When he was caught unaware, Slade was bound by a series of spiked tendrils from the shadows. With his mouth clasped shut, he couldn’t yell for Sue and Lana to run as the wielder of the tendrils made themself known. A woman calling herself Voodoo, her arm shifting into the tentacles, says she’s an agent of The DEO, the American governmental organization of metahuman criminal hunters. She demanded Slade to stand down, and let her and her partner Grifter, the assassin they escaped back in America, to simply kill Sue. Slade pulled out a knife and slashed at the tentacles, freeing himself. He yelled for Sue and Lana to run as he fought Grifter and Voodoo. The fight spilled onto the streets of Madrid, and Deathstroke gained the upper hand in fighting them… until the rest of the team arrived. The entirety of The DEO’s Covert Action Team, also known as The Wildcats, surrounded Deathstroke. Not only do we have Grifter and Voodoo, there’s Spartan (the field leader), Maul, Warblade, Zealot, and Void. As the Langs tried to escape, Deathstroke kept the Wildcats busy with fighting them. Void, who can teleport, tried to corner Sue and Lana after breaking from the fight, but Sue used one of her many powers to short out Void’s cybernetics and knock her out so they could escape further. In the end, a highly-injured Deathstroke defeated the Wildcats, slicing off both of Warblade’s cybernetic arms and one of Maul’s cybernetic arms, knocking out Zealot, Voodoo, and Grifter, and frying the circuitry of Spartan. With no other options and no time to finish off the assassins, Slade got back with the Langs and they continued the trek. However, Slade was unaware that there is a tracking beacon that the Wildcats stuck to his boot heel. An eighth Wildcat member, known as Condition: Red, began following them, reporting back to Jacob Marlowe, the DEO’s director…
