I really like the colouring, and even though I'm not American, I understand the pride that's in a nation's flag. Xx.

the united states does not intentionally kill innocent people.
the innocents that have died, died in wars. the government does everything it can to avoid civilian deaths even creating 'smart bombs' to limit collatoral damage.
and to be sure...we don't line people up and put them in mass graves like iraq, soviet union, communist china, communist vietnam, communist cambodia, communist north korea, and so on.
the united states is a democratic republic. republic is the key word. the system is set up this way because each state is an independent republic that belongs to a federal government. so every vote is counted in each state. and if you get win the popular vote in that state you win the state. each state has a number of electoral votes based on it's population. so you can win the popular vote, and still lose the election. it's fair and it's worked for over two hundred years. much better than most governments. the presidency is balanced out by by senate and congressional districts that are won on the poplar vote so that even if a president wins the national election based on electoral voting, congressman and senators can balance out the president and be able to override most of the decisions that he/she makes. checks and balances...read up on that.
btw, is the united states government perfect. no. but what government is?
about african americans votes? the same as everyone elses. maybe not fifty years ago but we've overcome that with the civil rights movement of the 60's and would not have happened without lyndon johnson and a republican controlled congress. but to say that any person or agency of the government keeps any person from voting nowadays is a flat out lie and propaganda. what percentage of people vote in america? i don't know but it certainly isn't high enough and if someone doesn't vote it's b/c they choose not to. not b/c someone is keeping them from doing it.

did we make anything better?
how about the fact your national language isn't german or russian.
in regards to voting...it's still a choice that they make on whether or not they vote. on european countries having high voting percentages...65% in our last national election. not bad considering how big the us is. some states had voting percentages over 90% some lower than 40%. when you have a smaller country, it's much easier to have a higher voting percentage b/c people feel more involved mostly b/c they probably have a family member, friend, or friend of a friend that is a member of the government.
school and education...well in some parts of our country it's excellent. other parts of the country, it's laughable. when it comes to journalism or journalist, most lean left and already have a bias or antiamerican setiment. it also depends on where exactly he is in our country that'll affect his poll.
in the neighborhood i grew up in, 99/100 would've known where iraq is. in other neighborhoods, i don't know. maybe no one would know.
health care? no health care systme is perfect. canada is going bankrupt from it's socialist health care system, and the people are sick of being overtaxed. that's why they're starting to elect more conservative officials. same with many other countries.
every day i wake up i thank god that i was born in the united states. i feel like i won the lottery every day i go to work. we've got a low unemployment rate of 4.2%, any person can do whtever they want to do with their life. here. wanna be rich, work hard and go for it. wanna sit on your ass and mooch off the system...go for it. if you take responsibility for yourself and work hard, you can accomplish anything here. the problem is not everyone wants to work hard and take responsibility for themselves. as for those who can't take care of themselves? there are government programs and charities to help them. the problem with that is there are too many people cheating the system, because they don't want to work and they're taking money from those who really need it.
i've been to sweden when i was little. beautiful country and beautiful people.

"did we make anything better?
how about the fact your national language isn't german or russian."
for one thing....dont take it so natural that US was the sole saviours of the ww2....it was as much the russians....the evil soviet....even though they might have had less good reasons........
And have I said anything about the ww2?.....I talked about modern or more modern warfare....like after ww2....
think vietnam, afghanistan x 2, Iraq x 2.....and all the small coups which the US have been helping in tons of states around the world....that mostly wasnt democratic and in many cases worked against the democratic forces.
"people feel more involved mostly b/c they probably have a family member, friend, or friend of a friend that is a member of the government."....lol.....we are not that small.......and whatabout countries in europe such as germany, france, GB, spain, italy?...those are really big countries.....and the EU is far bigger in population than the US....
"we've got a low unemployment rate of 4.2%"
again...check what the afroamericans, the llegal hispanics, latins and so on work with and what their employment rates are....you have to sociaeties....one where everything works....one where it doesnt...
"the problem is not everyone wants to work hard and take responsibility for themselves. as for those who can't take care of themselves?" the first lie of a capitalistic nation....
as the capitalism works....not all ppl start on the same level in society....in many cases its near impossible to work your way up from there...
and finally....yeah.....we rule.......owh....you wanna know a funny thing?....sweden has been ruled by leftwing parties for almost all of the 20th century....and guees what?....it works.......
FINALLY AGAIN!!.....lol.....if the democrates of USA was a swedish party we would have called them fascists....extremeright wing party or such....populist party........our parites most to the right would be called leftwing parties in USA...

your facts are incorrect.
you should really stop reading left wing propaganda. you know, journalist that fake photos like in reuters during the recent conflict between the isrealis and hezbollah.
i don't have the time to debate this anymore. i have this thing called work to do.

I'm sorry you even had to get into that debate with someone who obviously had the choice of not commenting childishly on the picture in the first place. That says a lot about him: picking a fight because he doesn't agree with your beliefs.
Very nice picture though. It's not only symbolic, but serene, inspiring, and aesthetically pleasing.
