When I decide to study doom metal, I dug in Black Sabbath with the self-titled track... This is simply awe inspiring. I simply loved the dark atmosphere of that song and the music overall. I dug in Pentagram (which become my favorite metal band), Candlemass, Crowbar, and Swiss band Pylon, and made me love doom metal even more.

Katatonia must be in there for their early stuff? And I can't understand why Down and Kyuss are in there? Down is like power / groove metal and Kyuss would be too mainstream and upbeat to be doom, wouldn't they? I've heard them on the daytime radio loads.

It's a very cool mural. I like how Boris, Worship, Count Raven, Zoroaster, Solstice, Winter, and etc. are in there. Doom metal is excellent.

As I recall, ACDC and Metallica were two of the big ones for Doom, even influencing the title logo. But I don't think I see them here. Aww...

Those bands have absolutely nothing to do with doom so you're either trolling or you don't know what you're talking about. AC/DC play hard rock. Selloutica used to be thrash in the 80s then they went hard rock in the 90s. Neither band has ever played doom.

I was always talking about Doom the videogame the entire time. I wasn't talking about Metallica and the like performing covers, I was talking about their music and lettering style being an inspiration for the game's logo and their music towards the game's soundtrack. Great to see Acid Bath and Om here, especially. Your collections of metal bands look really good. I love the way you almost can create a texture from hacving so many band names compiled like this. actually these collages are made by genre, some genres overlap and some bands play and incorporate multiple genres, but the titles of each deviation is actually the genre/subgenre it represents. thanks for the feedback, I will join your group.

mostly the important ones, as big logos, then fill in with all the bands i know, then go on to research the unknown ones, i keep adding more and re-uploading. this has so many more bands than it did initially. keep in mind that all genres have a lot of subgenres, so bands that qualify as playing a subgenre of doom also go in the doom collage. same with the other genres (death metal, thrash etc...)
