Is the mother really so dark? Is this full color, or have you desaturated it? Really interesting patterns and textures happening here.

the dark one is the father, and that is his natural color. it is actually the only giraffe i have ever seen with this condition. i would imagine that it is analogous to a black jaguar, a mutation that affects the levels of melanin.
