Description It's a shame that there is not much images of Gyro's family members. Actually, there almost none. I personally saw only few things with Newton. So - as lame as it looks and sounds - I decided to make a series of demotivational posters with three members of Gearloose family that appears so far in the comics, and I hope that it will motivate others to do other things with them.

And we're starting with Gyro's father - Fulton Gearloose, who actually appears TWICE. First time in "Gyro's First Invention", in Donald's flashback, when we find out that he just retired and left his workshop to his son. He believes that Gyro will be something more than just mechanic (like his grandfather) and Mister Fixit (like his father) and become a great inventor. He only needs an inspiration in form of one good invention.

Next time Fulton appears in "Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck: Invader of Fort Duckburg", where he's one of the first three Junior Woodchucks (and I kind of like his bare chest XD) that keeps Fort Duckburg as their base. But Scrooge, who just baught the fort, tells them to go away and they obediently go. However, on their way down the mountain they starts to think: "Wait a minute. What if he's not a rightful owner of the hill but some imposter?" So they're writting the letter to Theodore Roosevelt, who immediately comes with the army.

It's interesting that Fulton is one of not so many fathers in whole universe. I mean - there are mostly grandfathers, grandmothers, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and grandchildren. Actual parents of main or secondary characters shows extremely rare. And Fulton is the example of it, alongside with Goofy, Fergus McDuck and Donald's daddy.

About the subtitle in the motivational poster: Amen! It's like a curse of Duckburg - we rarely get to see their parents, even the triplets' father remains unknown. I never saw his face. Instead I see the parents of some villains/rivals and very few of the main characters. But that's indeed rare.
Oh, and I just love "Gyro's First Invention". I'm glad that we get to see Gyro's father at least twice - that's better than none. Well done!

Yeah, "Gyr's First Invention" was such a sweet comic, especially the whole relationship between Gyro and his Helper.
