Description
Hera, the Greek sky goddess who is the heavenly Queen of the Gods. As the wife of Zeus, the long-suffering Hera is the patron goddess of all women, particularly those who are married. Regal and proud, she does not let insults go lightly, and her wrath has been a driving force in numerous myths. her symbols include the diadem crown, the cuckoo (cuckoos are engraved into the pillars of the gazebo in which she sits), the throne, and the peacock.I used an image from the lovely stock of *Lisajen-stock , and the original image can be found in the stock pack here:[link]

A beautiful portrayal of Hera. Honestly, I have always pitied Hera and never judged her on her jealousy and wrath. Any wife would be upset if their husband behaved as Zeus did. I love the color of her dress and the emotional look in her eyes. A very nice piece.

I really agree with you on that. I really got into Greek myths thanks to Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson story. The thing is I never got why people hate Hera. I mean sure, shes kind of mean, but can you blame her!? In the actuall myths Zeus forced himself on Hera. The person who has my hate is Zeus.

Evilmunchun, peacocks is the greek goddess Hera's symbol. In other words she is associated with them as they are beautiful yet feared. Which explains Hera's attitude, she is one of beauty yet if insulted or betrayed, she shows a wrath which strikes fear to man. However Hera is not pleased with her husband Zeus and his many affairs, this can be shown as most depictions of her beside Zeus give a saddened or angry feeling.

i must say that she is too young and too beautiful to be Hera. cuz if you look in to greek Hera paintings and stuff she is more mature and more ugly than other godness. but thats a lovely picture thouugh.

one of my fav godesses. Really...she DID punish fools who went with Zues, but...hey! Don't we all want to beat the person who helps the person you gave your heart & soul to, cheat? I can't wait for it to happen to me (I have my own bat ready too!) I love how you detailed Hera. She was never an Aphrodite, but she had a wise maternal instinct to her and a beauty all her own. How many times had she wanted to beat Zues to a pulp?!
