Description An illustration piece done as an editorial for an article about plastic pollution. In the article, the author references images of finding bird carcasses with burst gutfulls of plastic bits...bottle caps, ping pong balls, doll heads...

So, this is what I came up with. Lots of intentionally muddy layers of acrylic.

How true. THe other day I was appalled to see a crow tear off and consume a portion of plastic, and soon after figured out why--it was smeared with sticky icecream residue. Absolutely vile. Quite interesting to meet my antonym, however--you view birds as death, whilst I see life. I'd also be very pleased to discuss rehabilitation with you--I'm still learning myself, but I do know my way around a crop needle (at least where pigeons are involved).

They symbolize death for me, but only in the best ways. Birds are synonymous with bones, in my mind...one of my favorite things, second only to feathers themselves. And then of course, there are vultures, which are my favorites. I have many fond vulture memories.

And I have absolutely never had the chance to work with anything related to a pigeon or a dove. I've always been curious and fascinated though.

Feel free to message me some time for a chat.

The deviation fits the theme nicely, yet the subject is sad, people should respect this world more.

Just google anything the North Pacific central gyre and you'll find crazy stuff. The articles are about sea pollution, but I made my image more general

Wonderfully detailed and designed. I love the arrangement of elements in the composition. The concept is beautifully visualized. Excellent form.
