Sure- and sorry for the late reply! Wow, this is such an old piece, SJW wasn't even a term back then...

It's sad that most of these have been said to me and my loved ones in the face in Europe. (not specifically this list, but very similar ideas.)

Hmm- where in Europe out of interest? The continent is very diverse in terms of peoples, languages and customs. In fact, referring to people as European rather than, say, British, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch, Irish, Swiss, Polish etc. etc. is quite a good way to guarantee hostility

Italy.
And I really don't care if other nationalities start pouncing. I sound mean, but it's really because a similar strand of mentality resonates in the Mediterranean region. Like how some in France look at Italians with disgust, or how even Northern Italians hate southern Italians for cultural and physiological differences.

Wow, polemic really does have nothing to do with truth xD
Expand your world, friend.
It's harder to want to smear people with different beliefs than you when they're your friends.

Some people just live to argue, so that doesn't surprise me.
I'm sorry but I tend to tune out when people start spewing rhetoric.
Plus, I find the equation of conservatives with racism to just be lazy; dude, that's beneath you.
Two facts, the republican party was the forerunner on abolishing slavery, also the KKK was democrats.
Many people don't know that, because the mythology of the evil, conservative racist is too prevalent.
And aren't "shock comics" usually liberal types?
That's the way it is over here at least
I can't speak for the UK, but I know from experience that in the US, most accusations of racism these days are pure unadulterated bull crap.
And, as for who I'd get along with...well, I usually try to get along with everyone.
Until a week ago, most of my life has been spent in a literal crate (one with wooden planks and nails - the whole shebang), so I'll pretty much settle for any human contact I can get

Hmmm... well this is a satirical, political piece; those are always open to accusations of 'rhetoric' and 'polemic'.
I don't really think I am being lazy associating conservatism with racism. Fortunately this battle has largely been won but its legacy lives on in the disproportionate antipathy to right-wing parties in the US and UK amongst minorities, even those associated with conservative values (such as muslims). As recently as the 1960s, the Conservative Party printed a leaflet with the slogan 'If you want a nigger for a neighbour, vote Labour'. These things aren't quickly forgotten. Scapegoating and discrimination amongst other groups, however, continues.
Yes, the Democrats were the party of slavery, but to my knowledge, both US parties had very different ideologocial positions back in Victorian times. I'll admit to not knowing what 'shock comics' are. Sounds like I don't want to either!
Well, glad you're out of your crate anyway *curious*...

If "these things aren't quickly forgotten" then it's interesting how the fact that "democrats were the party of slavery" is so largely unknown.
You bring up an interesting issue though about satire.
There's an interesting double-standard accompanied the word.
You, as a "liberal" (I'm assuming there) can make a conservative dictionary in which every trope in the book (racism, cruelty, Nazi associations, religious fanaticism, thinking Michael Bolton is a great musical artist, etc) are leveled against said group based on your own opinion and ideology: and you're free to do so.
I wouldn't have any other way either, for the record.
But say a person like me, a case-by-case centrist with a slight rightward leaning were to write a journal discussing how democrats want to keep racial minorities under their thumb by lying to them and making them think that whitey is out for their blood.
I'm free to do so, but backlash would get pretty ugly
But to be honest, I don't take the word satire seriously.
I think I stopped when they started applying it to Bill Maher.
If Family Guy is written by manatees, as the someone once said (I think it was wiki leaks), then Maher must be employing broken VCRs to write his material.
The dude's jokes are about as clever and original as a pair of old khakis.

Sorry, meant to get back to you sooner. First of all, I'm not a liberal, I'm a socialist, and I do tend to find liberals a bit wishy-washy: in other words, neither one thing nor the other, even though there are plenty of conservatives who seem to equate liberalism with Stalinism.
Second, there's nothing to stop you doing something similar on your dA page. Of course, with anything political, you can expect criticism from everyone from reasonable people with reasonable grievances, to the absolute lunatic fringe who wish you'd just fuck off and die, whatever your views are (I speak from experience here )
Third, I haven't the foggiest idea who Bill Maher is, but I do remember the South Park episode where they exposed the writers of Family Guy as manatees

Very probably- a lot people find that it's actually impossible to tell the difference between a fundamentalist right-winger and someone parodying a fundamentalist right-winger...

Ah, poking rich conservatives with sticks, one of my favorite pastimes. Of course, I do occasionally like to poke liberals with sticks as well. Pretty much any group of people that thinks they're right about everything needs to be mocked.
My favorite entry is Leviticus. Don't forget that we're supposed to be sacrificing goats and bulls, and practically everything under the sun makes us Dirty. Or that this was a book written for Jews. I love consistency in my religion, don't you?

Ignorance is bliss, but reality has no mercy to those who think they aren't subject to it.
By the way, I'm not conservative, just someone smart enough to not be pulled into the "left vs. right" BS. Both sides are in the wrong, they're just too busy hating on the other to realize it.
