There are some brilliant shades in this piece. I think it'd be fun for you to mix up some colors, too! If the blue had been mixed with another color, like the red to yellow in her skin, it would look even nicer!
Watercolor pencils are tricky because you have to be committed to what you put on paper. The more colors you use over one area, the darker it gets! It can add a lot of variety into your work.
