Description
Status: Graduated.
With the new school year hastily approaching, chatter had overflown in the great hall, where old faces were replaced by new ones. The familiar noise of crisp chewing was nowhere to be found amidst the myriad of sounds. Like the wind, no one has heard where she went after graduation. It appears that her family has moved houses, though it is unclear exactly to where. There was talk before she left that she had dreams of becoming an idol to bridge the two warring worlds, but there has been no trace of her, let alone on television. Just one out of the many passing faces that one would encounter - such is life.

Sunny and happy-go-lucky, Anise’s easygoing and jubilant nature is consistently reflected through her blooming smile. Infused with a ceaseless supply of energy and an air of quirkiness, Anise constantly searches for excitement and novelty in her life; there’s scarcely an occasion where she complies with mundane and routinely work. She prefers to march to the beat of her own drum rather than falling in line with the crowd. Schedules, arrangements, order, and the rest simply don’t interest her – finding formulating plans prior to be rigid and constraining, and frankly a waste of her time, Anise is accustomed to spontaneity, conjuring unconventional solutions when put on the spot. The girl’s interests in exploring the vivid alternatives an opportunity may have to offer has influenced her to become fairly adaptable and resourceful in a multitude of situations: more often than not, she is capable to wriggle herself out of tight circumstances with a certain aptitude of deftness. Deriving immense amusement from others’ reactions to her occasionally whimsical and strange behavior, her troublesome antics frequently land her a recurrent spot in detention. Readily welcoming compliments and a good ego-stroking, she is prone to donning a big head after praise.
A kind and open-minded upbringing has permitted Anise to be accepting of most others regardless of status or blood purity. In times of need, although she may not look the part, she’s keen to offer a shoulder to cry on or listen to one’s troubles, even offering solid advice in the midst of the nonsense she spews most of the time. On the contrary, she’s timid to trust and astonishingly meticulous with her own emotions and troubles. Often times, she’s hesitant of opening up to the wrong people, and being betrayed by her peers.
Simultaneously, while she’d rather not think about them, Anise does have her decent share of flaws to address underneath her shell. As per her outlandish behavior, she’s built somewhat of a reputation as a troublemaker in her own house, sticking out like a sore thumb. While her silliness partially serves to lighten the atmosphere, some may interpret such behavior as attention-seeking and even irritating. Indecisive and tempted by hopeful promises, she will commit even the most foolish acts to benefit people close to her, and most importantly, herself. Moreover, the lass is only ever passionate about things that interest her, and is for the most part a sloth and a procrastinator.
While first impressions suggest that she is affable and softhearted, there is an exceptionally grim side of her that is solely exposed in the presence of her closest friends. Excessively vicious to the scope of making cutting and saucy remarks to those who have betrayed her trust, Anise has scant remorse for sabotaging other individuals whom have crossed her in the past. She also has a terrible habit of indirectly coaxing the people around her to do her bidding; on numerous instances, it is noted that she gently nudges the conversation in the general direction she desires it to go. It would not be unlikely for her to use slight persuasion to convince others to accomplish her means. Her ultimate downfall, however, would be her profound refusal to acknowledge her faults, even going to the extent of denying them when confronted.
History :
Born into a loving household in the Wizarding World, Anise was the result of a budding romance that had come to fruition between a Potion Mixer and a Curse Breaker. From the day she was born, the girl was doted on by her parents, whom tried to supply her with everything necessary and more despite their own limited resources. The Donnet household, however cozy, was not extremely prosperous, and was quite average in terms of wealth and status. Blessed with an uneventful childhood, Anise had a reasonably sheltered yet kind upbringing.
Life in the house was rather domestic: raised under a roof which bore no prejudice against others, the girl was taught to be accepting and good-natured. Due to her parents’ frequent absences attributing to work, she was mostly brought up by her grandmother, who was responsible for her homeschooling and teaching her most of the magic she would grow to know today. Her grandmother would be also the first, eventually, to witness her first bout of accidental magic, where she caused the television to explode in one of her tantrums. Though honing and practicing her magic with her grandmother was interesting, this routine became tiresome and formulaic after years, and she actively sought for excitement in the outside world. What inspired her the most were her grandmother’s tall tales of the muggle world: the idea of another dimension completely different from the one she lived in peaked her curiosity, and she longed to explore the unknown. Having nobody of the same age to talk to, and no family friends in an equivalent age range, she was desperate to the extent of finding company in the objects she would animate.
An unexpected encounter in the Muggle world would be the cure to her loneliness. During a trip with her parents to the Muggle world to visit some family friends, she’d managed to lose her way unknowingly and meet her first dear friend. Separated from her family and wounding up at the back alley at a nearby hospital, she had stumbled across a patient bound in a wheelchair in the midst of her explorations (quite literally) by chance; after a flurry of apologies, they’d exchanged friendly conversation with one another before the stranger volunteered to lead her in the right direction. Introducing herself by the name Valerie, the girl had been hospitalized for many years. Their personalities seemed to click almost instantly, complementing each other hand in hand; both were curious in nature to learn about the outside world. When it was time to part, Valerie had extended an invite to Anise to visit her in the hospital in the future and spend time with her. Perhaps it was because both craved for the company of another, but the pair welcomed each other into their lives with open arms: this would lead to a gradual friendship treasured by the two.
Accepting her invitation, Anise started to tag along to pay regular visits to Valerie whenever her parents visited friends in the Muggle World. In time, Anise’s parents were introduced to Valerie’s parents. Thrilled that their daughter had made a friend, Valerie’s parents permitted their daughter to interact with Anise, and stayed on good terms with the Donnets. Conversations in Valerie’s hospital room were extensive and frequent, the girls reimbursing the room with laughter all too commonly with their opinions on fashion magazines, story tales, and pure nonsense. Touching upon the subject of magic on several occasions but never delving further into it, the two often laughed matters off jokingly or teased each other out of pure jest. Earning each other’s trust over time, Anise invested in Valerie her secrets, and for Valerie the same. Things had taken an abrupt turn days after an accident, where Anise had tripped and had broken her fall on her own, levitating above the ground shortly before plopping into a heap, essentially confiding her identity as a magical to Valerie. Valerie, stunned by this event, was rendered utterly speechless: only seeing Anise’s quirkiness and occasional naivety as a strange display of character but nothing more, she was bewildered when she learnt that Anise was a magical all along.
Telling her parents about this incident, Valerie’s story was met with strong backlash; what sort of sorcery had been going on behind their backs all along?! The topic ended with violent anguish, and her parents forbade her from seeing Anise again. Dire supporters of the Muggle cause, they did not approve of their daughter associating with Magicals, the black-magic wielding lunatics, labeling Anise and her family as potential threats. Believing that prolonged exposure of witchcraft would be detrimental, even dangerous to their daughter, they forcibly confronted Anise on her next visit and demanded the girl and her family to leave their daughter alone, and to never return. Deeply distraught that that was her last encounter with her friend, Anise was left no choice but to leave. Anise’s grandmother tried to console her about the matter, but her comfort was to no avail. Shattered by the way she parted with Valerie, she became more cautious and withdrawn, becoming wary of the individuals whom she invested her emotions and secrets into to protect herself.
Their visits were halted by the worsening Muggle and Wizard relations, which were intensifying rapidly at a tense rate. No longer did they pay regular visits to family friends. The Donnets feared for their own safety, that their own child would be the next to fall victim to Muggle extremists.
Then came the Hogwarts letter when the girl turned eleven. Expecting it to be no different from her Grandmother’s lessons, she thought herself to be more than well prepared for Hogwarts. To head to somewhere where she would find others similar to herself, where she could gain friendships without fearing they would be discarded because she was any different kept her hopes up. Bracing herself for a new adventure with happy farewells, she readily board the train to head for Hogwarts.
Anise’s first years did not go as smoothly as she’d imagined; while her grandmother's homeschooling ensured she did not fall behind in her first two years, it was inevitable with her nonexistent studying habits and her lack of interest in certain subjects that her grades would stagger. Doing well for subjects she enjoyed and barely passing for subjects she held little interest in beginning third year, there was no middle ground or “in between” for her performance. Now a fourth year, she retains her reputation for being a slacker, despite the OWLs being right around the corner.
Second Witch Trials
Anise herself harbors a tender spot for Muggles, due to what happened in the past. While she doesn’t encourage war between the Wizarding World and the Muggle World, she doesn’t understand the situation on both sides very well, and has no doubt that it is those with magic who will prevail. She is grateful to her friend Frederick and formerly Valerie, who have been reminders that there is kindness in everybody, even those of Muggle descent, so as to remain neutral for those who do not sympathize with the Wizarding world.
