In which Nassor and Weird Girl reach a compromise.

It was a rainy day in New Holland. Thankfully one of those rainy days that was short the lighting and thunder, but that would come later tonight. Nassor stood by his theory that the windmill caused the skies to rage against the night and deliver these thunder storms. He was quite late leaving school. All of his friends had already headed home long ago. He had stayed late to finish working on something he'd been falling behind on.

As he walked--thankfully he had worn a long coat and had brought his umbrella--he saw a figure walking far in the distance up ahead. He paused, squinting. Who was that? Wait... His eyes widened. Weird Girl? He blinked after her as he walked. She was getting soaked in this rain. It was only proper to offer help. He picked up his pace a bit until he came up alongside her. She cast a sideways look at him and smiled softy before looking ahead again. Nassor glanced over at her and held his umbrella a little over so it would protect her from the rain too. She looked up at it then back at him, nodding gratefully. She shivered a bit and drew near to him, slipping her little hand into the crook of his arm. He frowned over at her curiously. She looked up at him and blinked. He shrugged it off and allowed her hand to remain.

"It is the windmill, you know," he said to her.

"It's the cemetery," she argued. "The cemetery is cursed. It's the curse."

"I believe it is no curse, but the windmill's actions," Nassor answered.

"The miners cursed the windmill to always turn for eternity, forever reminding the people of New Holland about the disaster that happened because of their greed..." Cynthia eerily said.

"Hmm..." Nassor mused. "Then perhaps it is both. Because of the curse of the miners, the windmill turns and turns and never stops, and there it forever remained, turning, turning the air until the sky raged against the night and brought about the passionate and furious storms that wash this land in torrents."

Weird Girl was silent. "I like that," she finally said, looking up at him. "It makes sense."

"Then perhaps it is so," Nassor stated. Weird Girl blinked then offered a small smile. She turned to look ahead again and they continued onward in comfortable silence until he left her at her home and returned to his own.
