Almost everything we do for fun is stupid and pointless to. I don't see why people feel the need to run around a field kicking a ball around, I'm not against people liking it.

Shipping is ok and a normal thing these days, as long as the shippers don't go mad. I'm not a shipper myself, just support "canon" couples, like NateXElena in Uncharted series. There is one thing I hate, that hardcore shippers can't accept that some characters prefer beeing on their own. NO! It can'T be so he/she is shipped with every girl in a series, than he/she is shipped with every man in the series and later even with their own famlily members. That's justΒ way too much.
Second thing I don't like. Hardcore shippers start to see their "ghosts" everywhere. Don't matter what a character does, everything is seen as a proof for the love between their characters:
"Oh they're friends- they must be in love"
" oh they are rivals- they must be in love"
"oh they look at each other- they must be in love"
"oh they care for each other- that's is the PROOF they must be in love, because you can only care for another person if you have a romantic relationship with him/her 
Don't get me wrong. I don'T want to say that every shipper is dump, mad or annoying ( some are very nice and repectful) but I just want to say: Dear hardcore shippers: Calm down. We're talking about fictional characters, no need to declare war against other shipping fanbases. No need to search for proofs everywhere. If you like your ship it is ok if it makes you happy. You don't need to show other people everywhere that your ship meant to be and/or other peoples ships not. If you reallyΒ love your ship, you can also, if it isn't meant to be, as long as it works for you. But please, respect that other people have another opnion

Honestly tbh I agree
People are just way too obsessed with romance to the point where no one can simply just be friends anymore. The only type of ships I like are OCxOC pairings, because you can give them a backstory on how they met and stuff
I also hate that you're automatically considered homophobic if you dislike any gay pairings (@ tumblr definitely looking at you lmao). Not liking a gay character =/= homophobe. I guess their logic is that because it's gay, I HAVE to like it or else I'm automatically a homophobe.
And I hate it when people automatically claim that a man is gay if they're shy or cute, and automatically claim that a woman is a lesbian because they have tomboyish hair or prefer to hang with boys. Don't automatically assume that a person is gay/lesbian because of these assumptions. I know this is irrelevant, but I feel like this should be said.

Allow me to give it to you STRAIGHT:
This is someone's opinion. They could have logical and personal reasons as to why they don't like this thought. They believe that it's better off if the characters aren't forcefully together just because everyone thinks its ok. Sure they're just characters but some of them can give a person a feel like: "wow, this character is so amazing. I don't care if he or she isn't real, they have a very good and unique personality and I will always remember them for that!"
...and then you see this same character is pairings that are either canon, crack, a random yet thoughtful ship that isn't going to work in reality, and in porn and fetish photos.
I have this issue too sometimes, I only support CANON shipping like Hiccup and Astrid or Mickey and Minnie. They are clearly meant to be because it shows us that throughout the films and books. They aren't FORCED bythe fans, they have a realistic flow!
She's not saying it like you HAVE to agree with her that it's bad, she actually brings up a really thoughtful arguement.
And to sum this all up I'm going to mock your hypocritic line right there:
