The Super Mario series is that rare video game series that's able to do just about every kind of genre of video game you can think of, from your platformers, to your sports games, to mini game festivals, puzzle games and hell even first-person shooters (Yoshi's Safari is so underappreciated). Sure not every Mario game is perfect (Mario's Time Machine, Mario's is Missing etc.) but it has become perhaps the most recognizable face in video game history nonetheless for a reason! And RPGs have been a grand staple for Mario since at least 1996!

Sure Super Mario RPG and the Paper Mario series are amazingly fantastic and all, but I feel the Mario and Luigi Series tends to get the shaft a lot; despite each game in the series doing something unique for the Brothers to battle through; Be it sending them to a new and strange world or giving them a neat concept to deal with. The first in the series I feel is the strongest as it helps give us a level of uniqueness and a fresh take on their adventures we've not seen for some time. The Beanbean Kingdom is a very rich world full of all sorts of wacky and unique settings and characters for our brave Plumbers to battle through as they rescue not Princess Peach, but her voice from the evil witch Cackletta to be used as part of a plan I dare not spoil. They even had to team up with their archenemy Bowser and as you can see the poor guy can't catch a break!

Quite honestly this is my favorite Mario RPG for giving such a lush and inviting landscape chock full of creative characters, neat villains and a very quirky sense of humor to help keep me hooked for years to come! It's replay value is defintiely on-par with the main series games. Truth be told this game is pretty much what The Super Mario Brothers Super Show SHOULD'VE BEEN to begin with! Not that it's a bad show but come on? Pasta Land? Crime Land? FUCKING CAR LAND? Have some originality and don't just hump off movies or use a primitve Random Word Generator! This is why I said I love The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 out of all the Mario cartoons the best despite its faults and such; since it stayed true to its game and had a lot of creative potential and neat ideas, not just recycling the same thing over and over again for the most part. And yeah the games kinda do that to plot wise but they still keep it fresh with all sorts of neat ideas and concepts themselves.
