maybe because some people constantly rub it into other people's faces.
you can't pretend that people view something or someone as obnoxious, out of nowhere.
and it's not the non-binary gender that's bothering people. it's the fact that they claim it as fact and that many people, who call themselves "non-binary" force others to believe them.
but i have yet to see any scientific evidence of a third gender or at least an explanation, how gender manifests itself, through your definition.
and furthermore, what kind of biological purpose a third or more genders would be supposed to serve on us humans.

Wanna know what else gets pushed as fact despite it not being so in any sense of the word? Religion.
It's as simple as respecting another individual. Whether you understand their identity or not it's not gonna kill you to be polite and use their pronouns or how about just using their name or username if youre so fuckin uppity about it.
But i bet if anyone dared to misgejder you or insist you were something you are not youd be pissed off or at the very least frustrated too.

You can dislike an individual who's pushy with their gender or dislike certain obscure identities, obviously (because I do myself), but I'm talking about people hating and harassing every nb person they see which happens WAYYY too often online,
And,,, yeah there's no proof, but with all the characteristics that make up sex / gender (brain structure, hormone balances, genitalia, other sex related organs, chromosomes, ect) it seems much more likely to me that people would have a balance that makes them genuinely unable to identify with either binary sex. We already have intersex people.
And,,, humans have a lot of things that serve no purpose. Eg, we have a tail bone of sorts despite having no tail. Some things in the body are vestigial, doesn't mean they don't exist.

mm, but gender dysphoric people sometimes feel like they don't belong to either gender, thus they decide to use gender neutral pronouns.
agender is when you use they/them pronouns because you feel like you don't belong to a gender, so like..... ye lol there's only 2 genders
