after each message, the person "helping" me kept closing my ticket, even after the last message. because they told me they might suspend me from the help desk or whatever, I was scared to ask them to answer me again. this all happened within a time span of less than an hour. he/she deliberately ignored me. THIS is why I want to leave DA, and THIS is why so many people are leaving. but I don't go anywhere else, and all my fans are here. I'd honestly shoot myself before going to tumblr, and a gun was definitely not how I was planning on going.so what do we do? how the fuck are we supposed to keep out site safe from art thieves? why do I even try to bring justice to the worl if NO ONE CARES? well, there are people who care, but not the people who have the power to do something about it. seriously, I WANT to tell this stupid admin that he/she didn't help me, didn't answer my SINCERE question, didn't even TRY, but what will happen? I won't be able to open any kind of help ticket for a long period of time. that's an abuse of power, just because you don't FEEL like answering me, or just because you don't FEEL like looking into the case. and what would happen if I opened a ticket to complain? I'd probably be suspended.
this is an abuse of power, it is laziness, and it is an injustice. what can we do? nothing. absolutely nothing. I hate life. I fucking hate the world. you know, maybe I just shouldn't help take down art thieves anymore if this is what's going to happen. because the only time I have any power is if someone takes MY art, then I can file a takedown notice. but no. any time I want to help other people out, it can get me suspended. so it's wrong to help other people? you know, if I were a child, this would be SOME life lesson for me. but you know what? I've had my life lessons, and they've all proven to me that the world is SHIT, life is SCUM, and I don't want to be a part of it. but no, I have to. I have to sit in YOUR shit until I'm lucky enough to die.
DA staff is like dirty cops. I bet if they WERE cops, they'd plant drugs on an innocent black guy for being black.

well, I got mostly intelligent comments, but now I am disabling comments because I've started to get stupid comments from people who don't understand that there is a problem with our precious and perfect deviant art, the site that claims to "love" us so very, very much. it's like being blind to a shitty government. so I apologize to people who wanted to comment here, but the people who don't know how to read or understand ruined it for you.

I asked valid questions. I asked what do we do if they are stealing art from a website that is not DA. how is that not an important question? it was one that could've been easily answered. you don't see what the problem is? how can you NOT see what the problem is?

You gotta consider that DA can only do so much legally, and this person helping you only has so much power. More than likely they have to send a escalation to a higher-up if you report your art as stolen. Though at times DA can be a bit hard to work with in some cases when it comes to copyright infringement they can only do so much legally. And what this person is saying makes sense. I know art thieves suck and are annoying, spreading awareness is probably the best you can do (Without harassment) if DA cannot legally take down any images that aren't theirs. I say legally a lot because it's all about legality when it comes to copyright.
They're not dirty cops, they have a lot to handle and only so much man power/resources to do so and clogging up the queue with repeated questions that have already been answered isn't going to help them do their job any faster.
Yeah it sucks to feel powerless when all you wanna do is help, but sometimes you gotta leave some issues to the right people who can handle them. Send the artist a message, tell them to do a DMCA Take Down and the art will be removed and the art thief will be dealt with.
If you dislike DA that much though, just send all your fans to Tumblr (Who doesn't have one now, right?) and you can post and rant and stuff there about DA without worrying about being suspended, I like Tumblr's artist community they're pretty awesome!
Just remember DA is a business and will run their company how they please. If you're using their site you agree to their terms and conditions on using it, but you are free to leave when ever you want.

I don't know if this would be allowed but I was thinking it'd be kind of cool if someone created a group dedicated to art theft. As in people would come report art theft to the group as a last resort to get copied art taken down if nothing was being done about it. There would be like a waiting list of people who have copied artwork. The group members would be split up into smaller groups(kind of like squadrons or the different houses from harry potter) and designated a certain user who has committed art theft. Each small group would have a group leader who would be the first wave, their job would be to write a note to the user asking them to remove art do to it's copied content(they'd need to explain what the user was doing wrong). If the user did not comply then the rest of the small group would begin reporting all stolen images and leaving comments telling the person to take them down. Of course there would be rules as to what you could comment, meaning no death threats, the aim is not to attack the user but rather annoy them to the point where it's more work to keep the art then it's worth(group leaders would also be responsible for the conduct of their small group, meaning they'd monitor comments to make sure none of the members were leaving threatening comments or being unnecessarily bitter)(Mean members would get one or two warnings and if spiteful conduct continued they'd be kicked from the group)
The wave would not end until the user removed the artwork. Then the group would be assigned a new user to go annoy >v>; The only challenge would be making sure the group didn't become a tyranny =v=;; That is if dA admins didn't shut it down within the first week or so xD

I've generally been satisfied with the help desk, but I agree that some of the answers I've gotten back were pretty...unsatisfactory, to put lightly. :/ I recall going to the help desk to report a user who was harassing a friend and telling them to kill themselves because he wasn't getting his way regarding submitting art to a group. Long story short, me and a few friends reported the bully, but apparently none of that mattered because nothing would be done unless the abuser reported the bully themselves. And that just...honestly really disturbed me? Thankfully, my friend wasn't bothered by his behaviour, but what if that had been a very young, sensitive person who had been bullied? What if they never reported the abuser because they became fearful or depressed or had actually been distraught enough to actually commit suicide? These are points I even brought up in my ticket, but apparently, it still doesn't matter if they don't report it themselves! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Gosh, long comment is long, but yes, I definitely feel your anger and frustration toward certain members of the help desk who don't seem to be...helping.

that's absolutely disgusting. your points are completely valid because it happens. bullies tell their victims to kill themselves, and guess what, it happens, they do it. I'm glad your friend was strong, but DA needs to realize that not everyone is as mentally stable as your friend. a few weeks ago, someone told me about a DA user who killed herself due to bullying. in cases like that, it's not suicide, it's murder.

I really don't understand dA's stance in dealing with this issue and I hope so hard they'll do more in preventing bullying and suicide threats. My heart goes out to those who weren't able to endure it and who had nobody there to fight for and with them.

I feel your pain. I have filed numerous reports against various different art thieves for months and they have yet to be banned. The admins are disgustingly lazy. I completely understand why you and many others want to leave.

I've had this problem with the mods before: I reported a Neo-Nazi MLP fan for having an "Aryan" pony depicted killing other ponies violently, and I included a link to the gallery.
The person dealing with my report said, "We can't report the person unless they have graphic hate art," and I responded saying I included a link in the report to the gallery, and they were like, "Oh, well we can ban them then!"
And I was just like, "... Were you fucking reading this report at all?"
Mods don't listen, they're very lazy and hostile and they don't give answers. Totally don't blame you for getting pissed.

I lost my wallet at a 7 Eleven a week ago. I freaked out because I couldn't remember doing so and looked everywhere for it. I even called the 7 Eleven to see if they had it and the man talking to me said no. Just Yesterday though I went to the same 7 Eleven and asked the person working at the time if they had it. All she had to do was ask for my name before handing me my wallet. I am so thankful for whoever turned it in rather than keep it for themselves. Although I did end up telling her the man who answered my call lied about not having it. I had a 50 dollar gift visa card in my wallet too.
The person who answered your ticket is probably just a dick who doesn't give a crap about stuff. How is the original artist supposed to report if they aren't even a member? Is that basically saying they don't care if someone steals form other websites? Hell in some places in the world copywriting and stealing like this can get you put in jail!

Well, there isn't much we can do about this. DA might be trying to help, but I'm not well-versed in the legal system, especially copyrighted stuff. Whether they're trying (and failing miserably) to help, or just flat-out don't care, I'm not sure.
I don't like to think people are like this, because I like to be optimistic and believe that the people in power have good intentions.
Most of the problem here seems to be legal red tape; if what that admin said is true, they literally CAN'T help the persona unless they're asked by them directly.

but why did they refuse to answer my question about what to do when a deviant steals from a different site? if the person had helped me instead of ignored me, I would agree that they are just doing their job, but they didn't. they dismissed the important questions completely and closed my ticket without responding. most people in power like this do not have good intentions. take police, for instance. I visited Spokane Washington when I was 19, and heard a story about an adult male with down syndrome trying to withdraw money from an ATM. apparently he was having problems, and it looked like he was trying to rob the ATM. instead of inquiring what he was doing, the police officers BEAT HIM TO DEATH. I'm not joking. they literally beat a mentally handicapped man to DEATH. I have also had personal experiences with police when I was a teenager dealing with my physically abusive mother, and they told her it was alright for her to HIT ME with an open palm, even after I showed them my bleeding arm where she had dug her nails into it. it was fresh blood. no, I don't believe people in power have good intentions, I believe they abuse it because they are human, and humans are naturally evil. we have to LEARN to be good, and some people don't even learn it. this is why there are only two people in the whole world that I trust, and even then, it took YEARS to trust them
