Here comes another one of those group transformation scenes used as a way to draw and paint some of you.

on to the story-

No mystery this time, the names are mentioned.

A modern holiday scene, transportation gone awry, snow piling up outside, not a plane in the sky. Grounded passengers taking refuge in a terminal lounge, their plans and schedules rapidly vanishing.

Like so many times before, those trapped would have to wait until the skies could move again. December 24th...Four young adults sit by a Christmas tree in a quiet section of departures. Keeping busy reading, web surfing or trying to sleep, an electric driven tram approaches, with a very unique driver. One of the seated taps another “He’s coming back again, wake up if you want to look again.”

The vehicle stops by the chairs and table with three more younger travellers to join the group stepping off. The driver is the center of attention, an anthro Eastern dragon with blond hair and Silver scales, plus some blue markings and a white mane. As the last of the travellers sits by the table, the driver says to the group “Be back in awhile, We’re trying to find alternate travel and accomodations for everyone. Coffee is over there and facilities, plus wi-fi zone to use.” The craft rumbles back down the hallway.

“Can’t imagine seeing a driver like him working here” said one.

“Can’t imagine there are dragons now among us. I heard about them appearing after that strange convention a few months back.” said another, followed by everyones rumors and notes about UDC2012.

Everyone was tuned into the conversation and one said that he had just missed going to that event and most were intending to go to the next years’. One of the new arrivals noted two of the original group there were playing a role game and the other was reading a copy of Eragon. Something was interesting because he was a writer of dragon stories and it looked like another of the new arrivals had a shirt with a Dragon’s quest design on it. To anyone passing by, a normal appearing group but to those who knew-- anything but.

One finally breaks the ice, “Does everyone at this table have an interest in dragons?” and there were seven nods and complete attention. “I thought so” he said, continuing “Does everyone here have a membership on either Deviant Art or Fur Affinity?” and seven more nods...creepy but really fun as well, a boring time of being stranded was no longer possible!

Another says “My ‘name’ is Draconet, who else do we have here?” One by one each had a “real” name to give-
Zekyros, Dragonaide, Novae999, Tbutler4484, and Lord Draco-Draconis. The last, a young man in a military uniform had the gaze of the table until he said “Keane...Keanetan”. A round of handshakes and smiles soon gave way to mystery and foreboding as the intros and travel tales turned to one inescapable new similarity, each of them was randomly here. The young soldier, Keane was still in training for his country’s forces - Singapore, and was given some days of leave for the holidays and had travelled to a relative who wanted to see him. While making a circle of most of the earth, he had wound up snowed - in with the rest here. Very much the same for the others, holiday travel broken and some of them travelling unexpectedly with recent changes to their plans for the season. A lot of Karma, Mana, and anything else was used to place us at this table.

Some moments of silence as one of them turned aside to look at the decoration, a tabletop christmas tree, pretty typical one with garland and lights, and a few ornaments, plus a few faux presents on the table under it.

Keane asked him “You have been staring at that tree...what’s so fascinating?”

“Well, for a start there are lights here on it, but there is no electric plug, none at all.” was the reply getting everyone looking again. “So maybe its solar or a hidden battery or something” Said another.

The fellow who had been examining the tree then took an ornament off it and said “Ok, so much for lights, but how do we get an ornament with the name of “Novae999” on it? As he tossed it to its apparent “owner”.

Once caught in the hand, the simple styrofoam ball collapsed into powder and coated much of his arms and the image of him grew fuzzy, like he was becoming powder as well. Everyone gasped as the cloud first started to diperse and then coalesced into a dragon anthro, still in the same apparel as seconds before! The group rose to their feet as Novae999 said “What? what did I do?”

“Look at your arm, dude!” was said and he looked at the new scales as eyes widened from behind armored ridges, slit pupils widened with emotion and claws spread open in amazement.

The person who identified as Lord Draco-Draconis then said. “Hang on here, I heard about this. Some people who were given cards by friends from that Dragon-Con for those who missed going filled them out and all were mailed a Holiday decoration of some kind and most of them were transformational objects as well! This whole tree might be.... covered ...in....”.

Some stepped forward, one pointed to an ornament saying “Zekyros ornament here” and another looked at the little boxes and bags at the base of the tree, passing one to a group member with “Tbutler4484”. One by one, the named objects were found and given to their destined persons, except two. Surely all would be included?

A bowl of party poppers was among the pile and Lord Draco’ looked through them finding a large black and grey one with gold foil at the end “Addressed to pfc Keane, your Ordnance - sir” as he passed it to him carefully with the string well secured. A few seconds later a large red and yellow popper was found with his own name.

Everyone sat back with thier “Item” and looked around the group. “Hey, it feels just fine, don’t worry” said Novae’. Not knowing how the “poppers” would open, both Keane’ and Draconis’ stood well away from the group.

An elevator door was opening nearby as the group members smiled and one said “On three!” and another yelled “THREE!” and there was a sudden mixture of sounds, bangs, splatters, and popping...followed by a few fairly restrained roars! A group of new individuals all turned to the DING’ of the elevator and faced the person who had watched it all, with big smiles.

AAAAAAGHHHHHH! from the elevator along with the sound of the doors-close button getting hammered to a machine gun pace, as the Seven busted up laughing, a new deep laughing and growl mix.

A few minutes later a security guard rounded the corner and passed the tree, stopping. Weren’t there a group here a while ago, and the luggage - still here? Then a giggle from above and the watchman looked up seeing the dragons cavorting among the supports and lighting fixtures of the vaulted ceiling.

Placing his hands on his hips he shouted “Listen up everyone, you can’t fly here, this is an airport!” A call from above of “Do you know how daft that sounds?” as the guard started snickering and looking down at his shoes. The dragons landed and took their seats as the guard just shook his head and waved like “I give up” and walked away to the sound of chuckling.

The message board which was scrolling cancelled flight numbers constantly suddenly highlighted one just called PORTAL and the words ON TIME. Then the tram reappeared from around the corner with the driver sporting a huge grin saying “All aboard!” As luggage was placed on the tram and everyone was seating, the driver was asked what was flying in this weather and said “Nothing, of course, but (The Boss) has other means, called portals. You will be home or destination in a few minutes.” As he saw everyone seated, he started out and began “Welcome to your courtesy tram, I am Jard, your driver. Please keep all claws, tails and wings inside the coach at all times. If travelling with hatchlings, please keep them in your lap facing you at all times. Thank You for travelling with us at Mordor Air , your transformative airline, and HAVE A NICE DAY!”.......
