i really like this artwork but there is a problem i am having. Genbu was the power of water and Seiryuu ruled the skys.

Yeah, there are a lot of different takes on the mythology (in fact, it seems that Seiryuu also associated with the element wood)... so I picked one and went with it.

hey that confused me too but i know that he was portrayed as lord of the skies and he was blue like the sky (so what does wood have to do with that....unless he had a hard on whenever you looked up...jk)
