Description Due to unexpected popular demand I've uploaded a larger (and cleaner) version of this, as well as the other 4 elements from (Far) Eastern traditions (ie. Wood, Metal, Fire and Earth). Go browse my gallery to see them (they are all also available as prints too).

This is the kanji symbol for water. I'm going to be getting it inked on the back of my neck as soon as I can afford it. It will be the first of several tattoos, and unlike most people who get a kanji this has deep personal meaning for me. If you'd like me to explain, just ask.

lol alrighty.

First I have to describe my two tattoos which will follow this one, because they all tie in together. On my right shoulder I'm getting a Cancer design that I drew (the old version is up in my gallery) with a similiar fade, and on my left shoulder I'm getting a cresent moon made out of a celtic knot. With this said, now I can tell you how they all tie in together.

I'm a Cancer, which is the cardinal water symbol. The moon controls the waters tides and is the ruling body over Cancer. Crabs (the sign of cancer) are water animals. I've also been a water baby since I was little (born in southern Cali) so I love to swim, run through sprinklers and I love the sound of natural water (waterfalls, oceans, rivers, etc.). I'm very true to my Cancerian nature in just about every way, and I'm also a night owl. I tend to sleep more during the day and be awake at night. I love going outside and looking at the moon and stars. So all of these reasons make me confident in my choices for my tattoos, because I actually have meaning behind them (and I will have designed them myself). I may or may not add a little bit extra to this one, maybe something around it to pep it up a bit more, but at it's most basic with this fill I think will suit me just fine.

Hope that explains it.
