Description I've been told I'm pretty good at doing eyes, so this is an example of some practice eyes and noses.

I love doing practice sheets of body parts just by themselves, but I'm still no good.

I'd like to know if you do your eyes like all the art lessons tell people how to do them. If you wouldn't mind, could you explain, even if you do the same thing all the art teachers and art lessons say.

And I would love to know your steps in drawing noses as well ^_^

I have to admit, I'm not quite sure how to explain my technique. If I'm not drawing from a picture or an actual subject, I pretty much just get an idea in my head of how I want the eye to look (general shape - ie. Squarish, squinty, doe, round, etc). I usually start with the top line of the lid, and then the bottom, filling it in with the iris. Just make sure you can't see the whole iris and you'll be fine. After that I just add in the natural skin folds in the eye lids, and then shade based one where ever I think the light is coming from.

Noses come in all different shapes and sizes. Again I just get a picture of what shapes I want it to look like, and where the light is going to come from, and then I start drawing. you may or may not see the actual inside of the nostrils depending on the shape of the nose itself, it may have a bulb on the end - who knows? the best thing I can say to do, is picture it in your head and then draw the shapes themselves...then worry about connecting the lines or shading it in.

I hope this helps, though I doubt it did because I think I even confused myself there lol. It's something I'd have an easier time showing than trying to explain it in words.
