Well... here we are. The day we never thought would come to pass is upon us.
I had a lot of things I wanted to say here. A lot of thoughts that, when collected, just seemed to coalesce into a rant. In the end, I don't want to rant about this anymore. Hopefully /some/ good can be squeezed out of this sour bag of lemons... but we'll see.

I have to ask, given Mrs Clinton's very well-known connections to big business, in fact, the corruption and bribes that are so rampant in the Democratic Party that I dare say they were a factor in LOSING THEM THE ELECTION; to say nothing of the manipulation of the votes for the Democratic primary, do you really, honestly think it's fair to draw attention to Trump's administration in this way, when you could draw exactly the same picture, replace the portrait and still have it accurately represent the alternative?
Please keep in mind; I think Trump's a moron. He's a petulant child who's ruled by his emotions and he's going to make America into a laughing stock, but a) he is STILL better than the alternative, which would have been more of the same corruption that has murdered the spirit of democracy in America and b) even if you don't like his policies, he is still actually doing exactly what he said he'd do in his election campaign. How many career politicians actually act on their promises to the electorate, especially so quickly? Regardless of moral, economic, or political concerns you may have about the policies themselves, that much at least is something worth respecting.

It's not a matter of preference for me (I always said - people LIKE Trump, they don't LIKE Hillary, even her supporters) just how the pieces fell into place. But, of course, I DO hate Trump. A part of me think Hillary, while bad, knew how to keep the lights on and would be scared to 'rock the boat', as the 'first female president'. I mean, look how limp she had to act in the debates, it really gave Trump the opening to just clown her while she had to smile and tilt her head. I think she would have been nerfed by her own self-image. Even then, a part of me is happy Trump beat her... in the way you'd be happy if the Nazis beat the Soviets. We'd still have Nazis, but, hey, no mo' Soviets. XD
Personally, I was a Bernie or Buster. ; )

I've always wanted to live in the seventies NEWHART show - you know , the psychiatrist one, not the innkeeper one. The one with Susanne Pleshette. Dear God, sweet Susanne Plesette* . Anyway, I could live down the hall from the Newharts - maybe I'd be a wacky cartoonist, or something . I wouldn't show up much but I'd live forever maybe in that timeless happy TV sitcom world, where it's always 1975 or whenever or never when, and no one would have ever heard of Trump or any of the other power-hungry assholes who want to run our lives.
And my little Mieka would be there too,as the adorable comically greedy cat. And she would lick Bob and that dentist guy.
