She's my beautiful surviver, I recently lost two cats, out of a litter of 3 I've had for about 1-2 years, 2 tuxedo cats have died and my cat, the tabby one that's similar to yours is the only one left.

trying to get a decent shot
and its just simply IMPOSSIBLE !

Oh, BELIEVE me--I took this shot, and then he moved. I've never taken one that can even compare to this one of him since...it's a once in a [cat's] lifetime thing. lol
Easiest way to get them to hold still is to:
-take a picture of them when they're in a "hey, I'm paying attention to you!" mood rather than a "get the hell away from me--I want to nap/eat/am angry right now" mood
-snap your fingers high above your head to get them to look in the direction of your hand and hold still for a sec, rather than trying to rub up against you or your camera [note the reflection of my hand in the cat's eye. XD]

What I used to do was just following my cat till he did something cute or a crazy pose but it will just end up attacking my camera or smelling it XD
