I found some of my high school drawings that were (luckily) scanned years ago. I was glad that I had managed to preserve some since I lost most of them due to the typhoon Ondoy. Very nostalgic, really. These were drawn before my slump 4 years ago.

This one was page 5 of "Pentalith ~ Ang Limang Hiyas ~" Komiks that me and my brother were doing back in first/second year high school. We actually work as a team, until now - he writing the stories and me doing the drawings.

Knowing the original was destroyed, seeing this scan made me feel so happy and relieved that I actually had managed to save a copy. It made me think, "Wow, I really drew this during second year..." Well maybe I can consider second to third year high school as my Golden Age (as of yet). I had lots of inspiration back then, including Culture Crash and ~Kuromi-Ori 's winning entry to the 2004 AXN Action Strip Contest.

But, at the same time, looking at it made me feel a bit sad. This is one proof that after high school, I didn't improve much. Especially in perspective drawing. It's my fault for letting myself be depressed...

And then, that's it. Now I'm back. And hopefully I can keep this up.

One lesson learned: Never actually copy the narrations in a novel and use it in your graphic novel. It sucks.
