Baby elephant and its mother. Adorable, no?
A birthday present for my best friend. Inked totally with a brush, aside from ruling out the border and outlining the letters. This took friggin forever! Three of four days and working a lot on it per day.I researched ways to draw the clouds and found a few different versions, so I decided to do my own bastardized version of them. I think it works... I also love how the foreground grass turned out. Anyway, enjoy.

Looks nice. The clouds remind me of a sort of "topographical" representation of the shapes. I don't doubt that thing took a while.

The detail blows me away... I really, *really* love the darker portions on mama's belly & head, with the white speckles; they're reminiscent of black space with twinkling stars - appropriate for a power animal. The clouds turned out beautifully, as well...

Didn't even think of it being like stars, I was just trying to add a bit of texture to her. But yeah, it totally brings an ethereal feel to it.
And if you moved to Vegas, you'd probably be getting stuff like this once or twice a year, too.

Lots of art, lots of community theater (some good, some bad), and - my favorite - Bidwell Park, one of the largest municipal parks in the country, which has a river/creek running through it you can swim in. Lower Bidwell is your average landscaped thing, while upper Bidwell is left wild, with hiking & biking trails, swimming holes, and it's technicaly clothing-optional. (Most people don't make use of it, though.)
The downside? College town. Forty-two bars within a square mile of downtown. I fucking hate the CSU students. But it's summer, so they're gone.
