thanks mate - worth a trip to the Abbey with the camera, especially on the days the catacombs are open. They're friendly towards photographers too, which is unusual in these types of places (I've been chased out of Durham Cathedral for taking photos...)

none at all IMO - I wasn't using flash, or a tripod, or causing a disturbance (there was nobody else there!) - they sell photos in the gift shop so that's the only explanation I can think of, greed...
