Description I am posting this pic to emphasize the importance of using archival ink. I drew this around 1985 with a "Le Pen" felt tip pen. It was black when I drew it, now it has faded to a lovely red color. I bet it will keep fading until it disappears entirely.

He's adorable -- and actually the red coloring is very nice, even if it ought to still be black.

This faded to a lovely colour, but I admit it makes me worry about my dozen-or-so sketchbooks that I've drawn with basic school stationery... they definitely weren't masterpieces, but they're memories. I have noticed some of them became a little bit lighter than I remembered. Thank you for posting this!

If they are precious, scan them and print them out! Or scan them and store the images online somewhere. They will live forever!
Β I still have drawings from when I was 2 or so. That paper is still holding up pretty well ... 57 years later...but that cheapo school newsprint really doesn't age too well.

It may be fading away to nothing, but it has beautiful colouring at the moment. Just goes to show that some things improve with age~

I think it looks neat, more unique than standard black. Why are parts of it blurry-lookin?

I like the coloring too, it faded prettily! I wonder if a sealer on it now would preserve it...

Even though you're using this piece to demonstrate the importance of choosing the correct art supplies, I really like the reddish color this little guy has ^^'
