Hatching Empress dragon painted in rainbow colors.Her egg is about the size of an ostrich egg.
This is a cast gypsum reproduction of my original sculpture produced by Windstone Editions

This is gorgeous! I love the way all the colors fade together! Hatching Empress and I go way back n_n I have a Peacock Hatching Empress in my curio cabinet right now - I saved up for her when I was six years old, it was the first big thing I'd wanted and the first time I'd mustered the self control to learn how to save money. I had so much pride when I had finally saved enough to buy it. It brings back such wonderful memories whenever I see it on my shelf

We don't make many of these hatching dragons anymore because the egg shape is difficult to cast without defects. However, we may do a small "limited production " batch for our online store in the future.

I actually own one of your sculptures which is like this, although It's not this particular hatching; I believe it's a male. It was given to me by a friend, and it is very precious to me.

I know the poads are made via a mold... but do you make the molds yourself? Or are they part of a kit?
I just find the fact that you can make so many of them fascinating. I'd love to learn more of how you do it. <3

Yes, these are cast in molds. I don't make the molds myself, I just do the sculpture. Windstone Editions is a (tiny)company that has a full-time mold maker and casting department.

Interesting! Sorry for all the questions, by the way. It's just that when I saw your work I was struck by childhood memories. My family has been going to conventions since before I was born, and when I was little, my favorite part of them was the "huxter's room" where all the people selling shirts, books, and merchandise would gather together to sell their wares. I would always stop and marvel at the iridescent colors of the Windstone sculptures.
