How do you colour the gradient of two colours on the mane and tail, if you don't mind me asking? I love how this looks and have no idea how to do that. I've fiddled with the settings on photoshop and still cant find it. I must suck or something

I don't use a gradient tool. I simply paint the entire tail one color, and then with a soft airbrush and varied opacities go back over it (painting) until it creates a nice faded effect. If that makes sense.

huh, very cool! I never really thought of trying that. This I must try.
Ive used the brush tool in the past with differing opacities. Mine always ends up really showing my "brush" strokes. Any tips on making the strokes less obvious? I'm such a newb

No tips - I'm fairly new to digital myself (and entirely self-taught). I'd recommend checking dA and YouTube for tutorials though - because I am sure you could pick up a lot of great information there.
