I like the simplicity.
A little criticism about 3DCC scheme:
Some elements are invisible, eg inactive menu items - maybe it's intended, but imo this affects usability.

I did and I actually had a style that was almost identical but there were too many gray lines on window's surfaces so I opted to only have the 3dlight darkened. =\

I personally like 3dlight darkened-only more too, but lines make scrollbar easier to see. I can't use scrollbar that's partly invisible. =/

It's not a problem of 7. It takes just a little more fiddling around with 3DCC in order to have minimal scheme, but maintain the visibility of most window elements.
Quite many 3DCC schemes that people make have this problem actually.

It's a shell replacement .
Kind of like LiteStep or SherpE, but more leightweight.

There's many "flavours" of blackbox shell.
