Description

I had to redraw so much of this sprite, it isn't even funny. The hands, part of arms, the pupils, and part of the skirt are all the same. The rest of it is a redraw, so she took me quite a while. It took a long time to get the tentacles right. I wasn't planning to keep the pink skirt, but the flash of warm color looked too good on the design.

After evolving from smoochum, jynx can now live the rest of her life in water if she so chooses to. The strongest jynxes can go deep to the bottoms of the seas. Similar to their cousins, the common jynx, they are excellent singers and hummers. They use their humming to domesticate some wild pokemon with the aid of their psychic powers. They especially love to raise clamperl and compare them. They've also been noted to get along well with krabby, horsea, shellder, and other sea-faring pokemon. On occasion, jynxes have been highly affection with them and get food for them as if they're raising the other pokemon as their pets.

Like the Shulian smoochum, they love to collect things, but they now prioritize those they deem to be pretty. They also have a special fondness for fabrics and clothing they can wear. They also love pearls, jewelry, pretty stones, and shiny metals.

Their breeding patterns are a little strange when compared to most other pokemon... They were originally suspected to reproduce through parthenogenesis since males suspected to be in their breeding group were rarely seen near them. It was only after extensive observations that jynxes They tend to prefer the company of female pokemon and only rarely meet with male pokemon. Once the two produce eggs, jynx tend to part from their mates and return to their families. On the contrary, they behave in a more friendly and even romantic manner with other female pokemon instead.

Shulian jynx is based on Ursula in the little mermaid, at least in regards to her appearance. Some people theorize that the original Little Mermaid story by Hans Christian Anderson was a metaphor for unrequited love and note that the writer had romantic feels for men. Therefore, as an all-female species anyway, I decided to make them tend toward homosexuality because why not? It's not like there are any men around.
