The "bone hip armor" had to be rejected at the spriting stage. I had a hard time figuring out how the poison ooze would work. It evolves from rockruff while holding a poison orb during the new moon. Its purple ooze matches the rockruff's eyes. I ended up eliminating quite a few design details because the original midnight lycanroc had such good design to begin with, and additions only made it look worse.
