Feel free to join! Help is always welcome. With that in mind, I am not absolutely sure where the ages came from or how accurate they are.

I think Ferid must have known about Yu's progression into becoming a demon for some time, otherwise why would he save Akane's severed head? There are still a lot of unanswered questions so I'm really looking forward to chapter 47.
I think Mika does have affection for Krul like a child for his mother since she seems to be the only other vampire who genuinely cares for him. Without her support, he probably wouldn't have been able to find and rescue Yuu. I really do think Ferid loves Mika too, in his own sick and twisted kind of way.
In the anime, Guren was worried about Yuu siding with the Hiragis because he believes Kureto was going to try to bribe him so he casually reminds Yuu of his debt.

On the battlefield, demon!Guren describes Yu's personality, and it clearly matches up with excellent risks for becoming a namanari. I always thought it was weird they would give someone like him a demon, but it makes sense if it were all intentional. Even if things did not work out like that, Ferid would have enjoyed mocking Mika with her head too. Ferid also seems to be quite serious about returning people to life, so he's been collecting quite a few bodies lately. Is his mansion even big enough to fit all of them in there? Egads. The ones we know are bad enough, but I'm really concerned about the ones we don't know.
Guren mentions Yu's debt one time, not daily. Then again, I could see Guren intentionally being a bit mean to Yu over the years to keep himself from getting close to his subject. He took Yu to use him and ended up bonding too much.

I don't think Ferid can bring Akane back; he's probably just using that promise as a trap to lure Yuu and Mika in but I don't think they're naive enough to fall for it, especially Mika.
I thought the circumstances leading Yu up to be a demon was too convienient to be a coincidence so somebody had to be behind it; he couldn't have been born like that. Both Yuu and Mika possess the seraph gene, right? I think it strange that Mika has yet to manifest any powers remotely like Yuu so more had to be done to make him that way.
I think Guren was right not to let Yuu join the demon army before he was truly ready, otherwise, he would have blindly rushed to his death. I think Guren will remind Yuu of his debt whenever he think his loyalty to him is threatened by someone offering him a greater opportunity. Maybe being 'mean' to Yuu was showing him some tough love; Guren wouldn't have done Yuu any favors if he coddled him, I think. I think Guren does care for Yuu, at least so long as he thinks the boy can serve his purpose. Even Asuramaru looks like he's starting to care for Yuu as well.

That's what I thought until chapter 47, and then things started to make sense. If you haven't read it yet, I posted a blog entry on the SeraphOfTheEnd group page that will take you to the page with the magazine in it. The magazine is free this month for new members.
Yu transformed the first time because Shinoa gave him a different drug than everyone else. Yoichi and Shiho haven't changed yet either.
I agree. I think Guren is such a bleeding heart that he cares about Yu even if he chooses to kill him. I think Asuramaru has liked Yu all along, but he is still working on turning him into a demon and keeping things interesting.

Oh, has chapter 47 been officially released in English yet? If not, I'll check out the fan translations. I'm still getting the hang of my Nook pad.
Are Yoichi and Shiho seraphs too? I'd imagine Yoichi would have the easiest time controlling his seraph powers if he had any since he doesn't seem to be the kind to get angry easily.
Asuramaru is starting to act as an advisor to Yuu from what I can see. I still have a hard time believing he's actually a boy. I wonder if Krul knows he's bound to Yuu and is still searching for him.

Yep. It came out on July 4th. It's released officially in English on the 4th or the Monday after the 4th of every month unless there's a holiday or special event going on.
Yes. I believe the second Catastrophe omnibus explicitly lists six of the seraph kids. We have seen all of the six so far in the manga, too. There were many elipses, so that was not all of them either.
As far as I know, vampires have no way to see cursed demons. Even when Crowley picked up the sword left by one of the soldiers they killed, the curse didn't try to form a contract or anything with him at all. I don't think Krul has any ability to know unless a human tells her. She has not mentioned looking for someone in Vampire Reign yet, but she was looking for him in Catastrophe.

Yeah, I just read it; what a shocker. This series just keeps getting better. I'm also going to go back and try to catch up on the Trinity Blood manga. I still like it even though I know there almost no chance for an anime continuation. I was told that the AoT anime second season is in the works but has been put on hold due to the production of another one from the same studio, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress which has a lot of similarities to AoT. I thought that one was pretty good too but not as good as AoT and SotE.

Seraph keeps me interested, all right. I thought the AoT anime had gotten a new release, but I haven't been keeping up on it. I read quite a bit of the manga but gradually lost interest in all of the political drama in the story.
Kabaneri has gorgeous animation, but I would actually strongly recommend not finishing the series. I watched the entire thing through will power. It has an interesting plot at the start but then the writing and character development and everything crash really hard and don't make sense. The short-haired Kabaneri chick is only 12 in spite of her appearance. My guess is that the "iron fortress" in the title refers to the train because most of what they do is get in the train and get out of the train. The anime looks like it tried very hard to be super cool but blundered horrifically. It is by far one of the worst anime I have watched in awhile, so I do not recommend it. Do as you please, but ye have been warned.

My brother showed me Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress a few weeks ago. It does have some similarities to AoT but falls short in comparison. Regardless, I did enjoy it even though it was pretty short. The music was good though I don't think there will be a second season.

The street scene? I was originally going to do a larger painting for that one, but I ended up just tossing it instead.

Yep. I just thought that other drafts looked nicer. I could end up redoing it since I still haven't done any group paintings for Shinoa's squad. I would probably make the lighting more dramatic and change the angle of the street, but who knows how many months it will be until I could actually get around to it? I'm planning to paint a lot during my brief one-week fall break in August, but there's already so much I want to do.

Haha. Being bored isn't enough. I have to have the time, and I desperately require the inspiration to get me going. I also need my skills to be working. There are some days when I just can't draw worth anything.
My break starts August 16th.

Perhaps. I never really painted anything until last fall, and I never did digital work before then. I'm used to drawing in black and white. My color sense is pretty bad. XD
Thank you! While I believe I'm better than average, I know I really want to grow. I can't even consider myself good, but I do have some decent paintings on here.

Always more Krul! She's an interesting character and is fun to draw--in spite of the numerous clothing details she has.
