Collie brown in Pastel on Daler Rowney pastel paper 130gm A3 took 14 hours.I enjoyed this one may have over filled the page a bit(oops) maybe should have done him a bit smaller or get some bigger sheets of paper!

hes fab,ive tried my hand at drawing my dogs in pastels this week ,im on the verge of giving up with them.i love yours theyer brilliant

I have had a look thru' your page and your work is very good. My suggestion is Keep going! The more you draw the better you become, also try different papers, makes a huge difference to the finished work! I use daler rowney 130 gm pastel paper and I get good results however if I use daler rowney 180 gm I cant even draw a stick man. I find drawing slower I can get even better results, I can spnd upto 100 hours on a work but I am happy with it at the end, the same picture done in 10 hours for me is a waste of my time.

oh thank you very much,i must learn to take my time i thinck.and i thinck i probably use too much pastel.yes im using the same paper.i thinck ill put them away for a few days,and go back too them,ill crack it dont you worry,thanks again

Thanks, so pleased you like him. I enjoyed doing this one a lot I think I should have maybe either placed him a little higher on the page or maybe reduced him by say an inch all the way around, I like to fill the paper when I draw thats why most of my cars are at an angle, you can make them so much bigger when you go corner to corner and you also get a quite dynamic view when finished (I just like to fill the page tho').
