Description Container for maps. Big enough to hold at least an A2 paper in landscape format.

Leather, felt, laces, glue, tread, and various brass attachments.

It was fun making it, but it allso gave me a deal of challenges.

As the crew's Navigator I need something steampunk for my maps to be contained in.

----
Given as a gift for our school's inspector in 2013.
I think we developed some kind of inside joke around it during the two years I was there,
so at the day before my last day of school he got it as a farewell -gift.

These look like a fairly accurate replica of the older map cases. Excellent craftsmanship on case and straps. If I had one of these in a game I'm playing (tabletop) or in real life, it'd be quite useful.

Nicely done! I think the laces look a little too modern for this design, but otherwise I think you executed it well. It looks like you didn't use vegetable tanned leather, though, so the edges look a little raw. Still, nicely done! There's my "critique"

How mature some of the comments are on this fine piece of work...

Anyway, I think this is beautiful, the quality is so neat and tidy, bravo!
I would love something like this to carry my paper rolls that I draw on.

Nice work, I like the stiching work. I might suggest using a different way to clasp the cap rather than a buckle.

*facepalm* i saying "what the fuck" why you might say because that map container is confusing me and it looks like you're going beat someone with it

RestlessLynx In reply to woweasal [2011-11-10 21:26:00 +0000 UTC]

I'm not going to beat someone with it. Why do you think sword holsters are placed on the back?
For -containing- the sword, not for hitting someone with the holster.
