Wow! Long time no chat, Pirotesse! I do definitely remember you, but MAN my days in the IRC channels seem like a lifetime ago, lol. I've been well, all things considered. Since we last spoke, I've gone through several jobs, started training in martial arts, moved across the country, taken up leatherwork and bladesmithing, adopted two dogs and two rabbits, got married, bought a house, and had my first MMA fight. There is plenty of other stuff that went on, of course, but those are the highlights .
How have you been? Feel free to send me a Note!

No problem! I would love to see something similar for karate, though, being a karateka

I am--I have trained in martial arts for about 6.5 years now. First I trained in Shuri-Ryu karate and judo for about 2 years, then moved to Arizona where I just trained judo for about 2 years while practicing my karate at home, and then a little over two years ago I started training in Shorin-Ryu.

Shorin-Ryu is alot like So-Ryu i believe. we're all from the same family. Shito-Ryu, Goju-Ryu, Wado-Ryu and Shotakan being everyones ugly, yet more famous, twin sister...
i'v been with So-Ryu for 13 years (3rd Dan) now and run my own dojo with about 15 students. i studied some TaeKwon-Do in Oklahoma and i'v had alot of exposure to Nin-jitsu and Aiki-do and Krav Maga. i'm looking into getting some cross training with Wing Chun and Jeet Kune Do soon and some Muay Thai for my sparing (not for fighting).
thats great to see other martial artists out there! nice meeting you and thanx for checking out my artwork. i wish i had more time but i'm running two businesses and work at three other gyms in town teaching group fit classes and personal training... busy busy. once time allows i look forward to fully illustrating a student handbook. i will most definitely be posting the progress.

Very cool! It is always good to cross-train and get new perspectives and concepts to incorporate into your karate! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work!
