Description So as with last year, I end 2018 by lamenting on the shows or manga that came to an end this year. While not as numerous as 2016, these were my favorites. So let's go down the list.

Samurai Jack: Ah, what a comeback and finale! Not quite as epic as I had hoped (really it was more a romance story then focusing on ending Aku's threat) but I was satisfied with it. I loved all the new techniques used for the season, loved Aishi and how things finally ended. Granted I really wish this was a more 12 ep season then the 10 we got, but they paced it very nicely and put a nice bow on it as well. Truly it was worth the wait to see Jack finally got his long awaited resolution to get back to the past.

Regular Show: This was sad to see go, I love this series, watched it more then Adventure Time when it premiered. So crazy but unique and a show that both kids and adults could enjoy with quite a lot of character development over the 8 seasons. While I was annoyed with the whole love relationships they kept tossing around and whatnot (though if I'm honest, I'm in the CJ camp, Margret didn't have much of a personality to me. But that's my opinion). It wasn't too much of a deterrent that I abandoned the series, in fact the final season was quite wonderful really. I am honestly miffed that CN didn't really give it the send off it deserved (Yes CN, please give us more Teen Titans GO. That's quite respectful to one of the few shows that both brought you back to glory after CN Real and to even reach it's finale. Ugh). But I am glad it ended on its own terms and went out with a bang. All together now for one last time: OOOOOH!

Fairy Tail: Yeah this series reached it's end this year and I know how mixed the opinions are for it. Yes, it's pretty much a textbook example of anime cliches, ass pulls and fanservice, lots and lots of fanservice. Not to mention uneven storytelling to boot (seriously you can pinpoint when the author didn't have any idea where to take some of his plot points). But...even with all the gripes, I still love this series. Read it from it's inception waaaaay back in 2006 and been with it ever since. Making it one of the few series I actually followed before it was even picked up for official translation. Still love a lot of the characters (Gajeel and Levy fan right here), the early stories and even some bits of the final two major arcs. While most always chided it for being too "basic", I liked it for that reason. It was just a simple adventure series, nothing more or less. Could it have been told better and made uses of it potential a lot more effectively? Absolutely. But I read manga for fun and enjoyment not just for the "hardcore set", and this series was still fun to me. That's all I can really ask for, so I'm likewise gonna send it off right. Looking forward to the anime of the last arcs next year and hope that the production improves on areas of the story.Β  Please ^^.

And some mentions cause...I forgot they ended this year and didn't remember them till I was pretty much midway through coloring this drawing . Sorry.

Ninja Turtles 2012
: And so another incarnation of Ninja Turtles ends. This version...was quite interesting. Very silly, action packed but very mature, very tense and quite scary in places. Seriously when they wanted to freak you out, they REALLY wanted you freaked out. But that said I'm happy this entry in the franchise found a new generation of fans, did something new with the mythos and even had some nice animations to boot. Is it my favorite? Mmm no, 2003 version still holds that candle to me (Turtles Forever notwithstanding, though I am so SO proud they fixed the mistakes of that movie in this series) but a close second afterward. Not sure how "Rise of the Ninja Turtles" is gonna go (it's suppose to be 2D I heard) but we'll see when it comes. For now, congrats on yet another successful entry into the franchise. BOOYAKASHA!

Penn Zero Part Time Hero: UGH why Disney XD? Why do you keep shafting such unique shows? This was like Quantum Leap meet Exiles (well a more kid friendly version). Great animation, loved the different worlds they went to and the dynamic between Penn and Rippen with their "jobs" as it were outside their reality. It did take me awhile to warm up to it (I wasn't a big fan of Sashi) but once it continued on, they eventually grew on me. Which is why I was utterly disappointed the 2nd season got burned off so quickly because they obviously had to make room for the new Ducktales, season three of Star vs Evil and the last season of Star Wars Rebels. I can understand that...but with the speed they burned off this series. It was obvious they didn't really care about his show anymore and it was nothing more then an afterthought by that point. -Sigh- Well it's on the net at least, so if you all can, please give this show a watch. It is severely underrated and deserved more respect then it got.Β

Hey Arnold; Well at the current this one's a big "maybe" if it's truly ended because there's some rumblings that they could continue the show. But in the meantime, like Samurai Jack, I am so happy for the resolution we got on Arnold parents and the long waited trip to find them. It was pretty much what I expected from a Craig Bartlett production, good jokes enough that kid'll dig it but adults will love it for all the stuff they slip past the radar and genuinely putting the heroes' lives on the line. Heck, I think this is the first time we actually see death onscreen in this series really than it just being implied. Just wow. Then again after Party Wagon, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. Still glad to see this got a conclusion and I hope the new generation will be curious enough to go check the original series. And hey, who knows, maybe HA will get a proper revival. Either way, I'm just happy to see an old favorite again.

And there you have it, byesie bye 2017. It was fun ^_^.

Glad I'm not the only one who stood up for something criminally underrated like Penn Zero.

I definitely agree with Regular Show & Samurai Jack (R.I.P.) - awesome shows with great endings.

Take care in the new year, m8.

The manga ended in 2017. Its anime is just gonna cover the rest of the story in '18. But it more or less is pretty much finished. Still though that could be a technically. Heh.

Thanks though.

Aw man, I'm gonna miss Fairy Tail too. And TMNT and Penn Zero ended? We'll have to watch those, then...
