Description
A bit frustrated last few days, been trying to export this model as an OBJ file from Sketchup, so that I can send to a another artist for render in Lightwave and tweak in PS. OBJ file export does work but all kinds of crap happens when I open it in Keyshot, and LW will be the same, I'm not going to burden the other artist with these issues, so its on the back burner again.
Dam frustrating trying to do the post production stuff with Sketchup models, I love the program, it suits my knowledge base and workflow, but its not in the same league as other 3D engines, either way after spending the day rendering, drinking tea and eating man food, I feel better now
No more ranting now, on the bright side I'm going to get a new PC with all the trimmings so I can push the envelope with my 3D stuff, the current one is struggling with my file sizes in Sketchup and keyshot, devils in the detail loll.
Have a great day one and all.

I love the design of this craft.Β Is it strictly atmospheric, or can it go into suborbital?Β

Hiya friend, its deco punk retro fusion.
The craft is space worthy, can move inner systems as well as atmospheric, based on tech outlined by my very good friend www.deviantart.com/jamesf63 .
I think of it as an era where we have the technology to move about with anti gravity and real science thrust potentials, I guess if you live in a post scarcity era why not build beautiful vehicles to travel, hand crafted, made with care and thought, not cookie cutter cars so to speak
I appreciate you taking the time to check out my work, and the questions, cheers friend.

Quite welcome.Β Thought it would fit into a Star Wars setting.Β Was rather curious about its background.

Starwars is cool, would have loved to see my ships in any of the movies lol, imagine what they would look like with the stuff they can do, we can only dream my friend

Yes, it was, but the franchise has ran out of gas.Β Disney wants to do one every other year, and fill in with newer chapters of the "Avatar" series.Β Β

Despite all the recent frustrations you have endured this looks absolutely fantastic! Love the design, composition and render. It looks sexy and dynamic.
(Drinking tea also helps me when Iβm trying to render. Donβt know what Iβd do without a good hot cup of tea)

cheers mate, its all good, tea works a treat , once I get my new PC I am going to have some serious 3D fun, I get by with Sketchup for most of the part, it great to use, maybe Photo shop is the best partnership to have with Sketchup for post production, even the best 3D artist use it.
I forgot to say the other day, great photography skills, composition, for the ticket to the moon scene, you should take some more of the skies, sunsets, crowded areas, they will be good for your future works, even if you extract bits and pieces from them.

Yeah, there is some amazing software and itβs becoming easier and more intuitive to use over time. I hope you can get your new PC soon.
Thanks, Iβm planning on going to Nagoya airport and the city again to get some more sunset shots. I love combining photography and digital painting. Itβs almost too much fun ππ

This ship is fabulous.
Have you considered Blender ?
Apparently they have made a more user friendly UI which has been welcomed. Obviously I haven't got a clue re BlenderΒ but I know a guy I respect as a Modo tutor who has started producing Blender tuts on the tube. If they are as good as his Modo tuts then they are going to be very popular.
