i can't say i understand the whole story with the characters and everything...but thats just because im slightly thick. im sure i would if i took the time to think about it.

I was speaking overall. Some of the other stuff from Apologue is very detailed, but the red is sort of a slap in the face.

What I think you are trying to say is that you feel like red overly dominates her pictures. It's too bold and takes away from her ink or lineart. However, I could be wrong. It has been a very long day for me. Therefore, I apologize if I interpreted you wrong.
This is just my opinion, but I think she uses red rather well. As mentioned before, red can be a difficult color to work with and have a tendency to dominate everything. The way she uses it, I like to think, balances the picture evenly. It brings in the spectators attention with its boldness. Contrast, is probably the word I'm looking for but I'm not sure if I'm explaining this clear enough.

Y'know, I've never commented on one of your works (in my recent memory, that is) and I think it's about time I did.
One, your pure skill is simply awing. The poses you have these two characters in and their expressions--it pulls the entire piece together, helped by the spontaneity (or so it would seem) of the background. You make me want to draw Swallow out of the painting itself and paste him to my wall so I can keep him forever. Excellent work, as always. <3

i adore swallow's hands, the thin fragile fingers holding the bloody tools, and the way it's visible he feels the blood running down his hands ... and the way he's looking back is great!
