I've wanted to ask.. why do you always start with the blue undertone ?Β

I use the underpinning to help define lights and shadows. That way once I start layering color I have a base to work off of. And I typically use blue because its a cool tone that I'd eventually have to add for shadows anyway so it saves a step. Also, some blue pigments tend to be more permanent than others so when I start layering colors on top of them they won't be washed away.Β
