So you ever sell any of your work - especially of Kong?

Thanks a lot.
Your Gorilla is very good for someone new to sculpting, reminds me of the original '33 king Kong.

Hi and thanks......I use all sorts of tools, some of them are improvised from anything at hand at the time , some are actual sculptors tools that I bought and some I made myself to perform certain tasks. Some artists like to use texture stamps, I don't use them much myself but it's a personal choice, there are no hard and fast rules.....whatever works for you is fine.
If you are just starting out with sculpting I would recommend that you just get hold of some basic sculpture tools from a craft shop...and some cheap clay and start playing around with it.
I would advise you to concentrate on learning to sculpt basic forms and structures first before getting in to textures.....the textures will ony work if the structure underneath is believable so I think it's important to master them first.
Here's a great DVD that covers all aspects of sculpting from basic forms to ultra realistic textures, I highly recommend it!
("Mark Alfreys-Sculpting the Human Head" available from Amazon.com and other online retailers)
thanks again and good luck with your sculpting,
Terry
