Description
It's been a long time since I've get the chance to draw something sfw Thanks to Sarcastodon for commissioning this. Here's a bit of context for these two beautiful characters:
"The night had been delightful, much to Zifri’s surprise. Dancing, feasting, and fostering a number of connections among the elite of Ul’dah. Connections that were certain to lead to plenty of work for the free company. She had harbored concerns regarding Riessa’s rough edges among the prim and proper party guests, but the Ala Mhigan had been the model of polite behavior. Seeing her so demure, even if only relatively so, was exhilarating. That it would be just the two of them had seemed too convenient. The other members of the senior leadership all had business that required their attention? They even seemed almost eager to send Riessa and Zifri together. At first, she suspected that she was the butt of some joke. Now, she wasn't so sure.
The flickering of the lamp cast a small measure of light into the dark of her apartment. The apartment that she had invited Riessa back to when the hyur had proven too wine-drunk to make it all the way to the Shifting Sands. Her apartment was closer, after all! Even if only by a street or two. Besides, why waste the gil? Riessa could just use her bed to sleep off the night’s revels. It wasn’t as though this the first time they had shared accommodations. Though, it had been so long since the last time. As fate and adventure and the meddling of others took them down different roads. But now here they were, thrust back together again. And the old hurts and old arguments were so far away.
The shifting of weight on the bed snapped Zifri back to the present and what she had sought to distract herself from. The elezen half-turned and let her eyes wander. Gods, she was right there. Just sprawled on her bed. The golden fabric of her party clothes shimmered delightfully in the dim light, a far cry from the usual armor and axe. The strap had fallen from her shoulder, teasing Zifri with the thought of how flimsy it all was, just how little there was to protect Riessa from her advances. For all her strength and determination, the hyur could be wonderfully docile. Might Riessa bend to her here? Zifri’s breathing became a little quicker. Her hand itched to reach out and take hold and claim possession. Why did she hesitate?
The signs had been there! Hadn’t they? The fumbling, half-veiled innuendos. The too-long touches that neither shied away from. The rush to finish chats with the other partygoers in order to return to more private conversations. Or had she just imagined it all? Did she just want to see what wasn’t there? The wondering was enough to make her sick. It was just like before they had drifted apart. Well, enough was enough.
Zifri steeled herself. This foolishness had gone on for too long. She would have her answers. With any luck, she would have Riessa, too. All she had to do was speak..."
