Saw this from the front page, liked how it came out, especially as far as the knight theme goes (I love Fantasy Warrior/Fighter types).

Taking a quick glance at the rest of your gallery, really have varied characters and and faces/facial expressions (a big deal in my opinion.

Question though: Anyone have an issue with you drawing black characters? One of the things I've learned with commissioning artists or writers (I'm not a highroller/big spender, just think $5-20 stuff) is that black characters are usually a no-no. A white valley girl, a cutesy asian girl, hot brasilian showgirl, etc. all these I could and have asked for with no issue. But a black woman, even without any negative/positive stereotypes? No-go.

Hey thanks Im glad you like her. This is a char i designed along time ago. Its been great updating her with the digital coloring its nice.

As far as your question goes. I havent really had that problem with ppl. Its not really surprising because the (white, asian,) are usually the kind of female oc characters you see commissioned. Did artist actually tell you they wont draw black females?

Ya, from those I could get an answer out of, its because its "racist" or don't want to take the risk of offending anyone.

Oh ok so they do know how to draw them. But there are afraid to?

I guess its probably because they dont like to draw them very much. So they feel uncomfortable when someone requests it. They can make a change though.

Well look at what happened with the Princess and the Frog. I'm not sure if Aladdin or Mulan caused such a ruckus, but Princess and the Frog was under a nuclear powered microscope for so long that I'm not sure if Disney will ever touch it again out of fear of controversy.

I see what you mean, but i think that was first because the prince wasn't the same race as the princess. Then ppl started thinking it was unfair that they started the interracial love interest on the first black princess' movie. Not saying i dont agree with it. But i think people only were concerned because disney may never do this ever again.

I recently watched "Princess an the Frog", and I must admit that the fact that the first African-American princess was paired with a non-African Prince, definitely caused me to raise an eyebrow.

All of the former Princesses were paired with Princes of their own race.

It just seemed like an oddly deliberate (and slightly insulting) choice.

I have no problem at all with inter-racial dating/ marriage. But I think Disney dropped the ball.

They had an opportunity to present a positive (albeit fictional) black relationship.
Yet, for some reason, they shied away from it.

They should change their company mascot from a mouse to a chicken.
