Description I started this Sunday but unexpected events kept me from finishing it then.

Basically, I believe Caesar probably feels guilty about many things. The main things being the fact he couldn't save his parents or his little brother. That is quite a burden to bear. Of course, his brother did make it out okay, but he left Rex for 5 years. That can't exactly be easy on him either. It's up to sweet little Rex to try and console his distraught big brother.

However I do not believe even Rex can pull Caesar out of this rut.

this is very well done! I love how you put emotion and using sephia color to make this picture very meaningful. Also how you make the bros wearing suits Using texture is excellent choice, I would suggest when using it next time, try to lightly clean the rough texture in the near face area so it doesn't look like smudge on the face. because viewers often see the face first

Aww... this is so touching.

Also, Rex did sort of have a quasi-matron figure in the form of Dr Holiday, unlike Caesar. Also, Caesar caused the explosion that killed them, so... yeah... heavy burden is putting it mildly

Probably.
Being the oldest, Caesar would have a greater attachment to his parents as most firstborns do, so seeing Rex transfer the maternal role to Holiday would be something that would not sit well with him.

But... does Rex ever see Holiday as a mom? I know the two have interacted like that before... but is there ever that actual perspective? He revealed that Six was kinda father-ish to him... but did he ever see Holiday as a mother and not realise it?

It's harder to tell with his relationship with Holiday since he did kind of hit on her a lot in the beginning. She's probably just a respected authority figure. It'd be awkward to see her as a mother figure after him wanting to date her.
