Description The Librarian, done for an icon but nice enough to stand on it's own. He's exasperated.tired/annoyed here. It's interesting to try drawing him at different angles, and I feel like I've got the look I want down. Part of a set of pictures of him, done in watercolors because I was trying to get a more Brian Froud-esque look, but I can't seem to just let myself go and be that scribbly.

watercolor and microns.

This character is gorgeous. I want to check out your story just from his design.

He's one of several fan characters for a Labyrinth fan comic which... I really should get started on. And Thank you! I've got a couple pictures of this guy around.

Ooh, excellent work... the use of water colours reminds me a bit of a Froud contemporary called Alan Lee.

I first saw his work on the cover of a novel called the Sword In The Stone and it's this painting that you remind me of somewhat (there's a thumbnail here [link] towards the bottom of the page - it also reveals above it that he painted for Gormenghast, which is a favourite trilogy of books for me )

I'm familiar with Alan Lee, all the way back from a childhood spent with the 'Faeries' book he and Froud did together. He did a lot of the concept work for the recent LoTR trilogy didn't he? I should know that out of hand but I've been sick and me braims is fuzzy. I'm flattered. It's been a while since I played with watercolors at all, but I used to work in them all the time and I've had some formal training.

I'm not actually sure if he worked on the new trilogy. I'm sure he must have... but i do know that he made a very extensive contribution to the LOTR franchise during the 80's etc by making a lot of paintings for novelisations etc.
