Good work. I agree with Vino86; the setting is really appropriate to the work. The association I have, because of the context, is with the fruits of the sausage tree, or the air-roots of a giant fig tree, or of strangle vines. In in indoor setting, I'm sure the associations would be different. It also reminds me of Louise Bougoise's work, although not her current work. Are you familiar with her? She's quite good, and there's an affinity with your work that you might find useful. Oh, Eva Hesse, too. I presume you're familiar with her as well (hard to work in latex without her name coming up) but just thought I'd mention it in case you weren't. Also, where IS that setting? It looks like...a very nice college campus, I guess.

Thanks for checking it out Jeriah and your thought provoking comments. I love sausage tree fruit, we have them in the area and we have many figs near my house. Interesting, I hadn't consciously made the association. I'm familiar with Louise Bougoise and just checked out Eva Hesse for the first time, wow, thank you! Really interesting woman and I certainly see the similarities between my piece and her 'untitled' piece.
The setting is a courtyard on campus. It is a one of the only really nice spots, unfortunately the building behind has some kind of concrete rot and is unsafe. The whole place will be abandoned in 2 years.

I like statements....even if they're like "Yuck!", at least it stirs some reaction in this little apathy infected world. 'Private meet vs public' is very apt as the end pieces of the stocking are in fact very phalic. It actually can be read in many ways ie. Female intuition meets male thought? lol

Thanks dude. It was a lot of fun. Great teacher, lets you just flow with the feeling which is so different from the others. I'll be taking it off into the bush next week and photographing in that natural environment, do some Goldsworthy sorta stuff. I'm goin' to put the guts in a hollow tree I think, take the shot just for fun. I'm so looking forward to getting down and dirty in nature.

It's a beautiful day here too think I'll go for a walk and take some photos. I love fishing, actually I think it's more just sitting and watching the diamond facets refracting off the water. Catching anything is a bonus.

i caught one fish yesterday. it was about 10" long or so. not huge but fun to bring in.

no, i only do catch and release. i don't know how to gut and clean a fish, so i just torture them for 5 mintues and set them back free.

yeah, most likely they have mercury in them. i have no idea how much, but probably. one of my friends suggested that i put a lip ring in where the hook used to be. i'm piercing them anyways, may as well give them a stylish addon. however that would get expencive really quickly
